This just screams that it's not ready yet, and they were working on it right up until the deadline. Otherwise, they should have uploaded all of it last Tuesday during maintenance.

Eh... every mmo patch/expansion will always be worked on right up until the deadline. If it ever gets done early then they would go, "oh hey we should add that other thing" or "oh hey now we have time to fix that one thing". There's always something that can be done with a mmo.

What do you mean? It's the 2.0 patch for everyone, not just unlocking new content. Patch days generally have a long maintenance window. The only thing different than all previous patches is that they've shifted that window back in order to have a midnight launch.

I don't mind the patch (and I didn't pre-order, so I won't be playing until I want to buy it). I mind the fact that they tried to sell customers on the early release, and waited until the 'day before' to update it. So, not only do all existing customers have to shut down during prime time (no checking on friends or guildmates tonight), the folks who will be getting in early could still face some potential delays if everything doesn't test okay (which should have happened during an extended maintenance the week before).

I agree with this. But one thing I will note is that SWTOR has actually been fairly stable and had one of the best launches I've ever experienced. Hopefully they didn't fire the guys that made that possible, and 2.0 will go off without a hitch.

I'd imagine that there are some last min tweeks that will need to be done. My guess is that is why the early release to those that pre-ordered. They get to play it live with the benefits and EA/BW get to see how it is working and will have the ability to tweek accordingly throughout the week to iron out the kinks.

The maintenance takes place at 01:00 GMT - 07:00 GMT. That's hardly "prime time" for the European customers. Are you saying us European customers aren't a part of the "all existing customers" demographic?

Since it's summer, and almost every European country is in a summer time timezone, the maintenance window was, for example to Britain, at 02:00 - 08:00 (they're in BST, which is GMT+1), at 03:00 - 09:00 for CEST (GMT+2) and at 04:00 - 10:00 for myself here in Finland (GMT+3).

So... For us Europeans, the maintenance was at a perfect time. Now, if you want to dig up some statistics as to how many North Americans play SW:TOR, and how many Europeans do, we can fight about whether this was a fair thing to do or not. Still, someone had to have the servers brought down at an inconvenient time, I guess.

It's basicly "live" now. You can patch/update the game and wait for an hour from now on. I started the game up, just to see if they might've finished early (happens sometimes). And the only thing I noticed.. Is the butt-ugly loading screen when you start up! It was a nice placeholder for the PTS and I sincerely hoped we would get a different one. Atleast a more detailed version. Because if you take a look at the bottom-right.. Those are just not finished properly. On the original loading-screen they took time and effort to eveything on the picture. It looks like they know were a bit "Let's make them so that everyone can recognize them".

See, I'm already disapointed and I can't even play yet.

I'm reading the forums and it sounds buggy as all heck. Some people were posting that they've seen people level 55 in 15 minutes.

Glad I didn't pre-order. I'll buy it when they drop the price down to $5-10 for preferred accounts.

    Thats actually not a bug.

You could save up pending quests (more then 25) as well as have 25 quests in the log and turn them all in once the expansion went live.

Not really a bug but I'm also not sure what BW considers it. An Exploit? I don't know but it's no biggie as far as I can tell.

and to be honest I'm actually starting to think BW knew this would happen in some form.

The story questing alone would not get you to 55 and you were expected to do dailies and such to reach level cap. People just did per-emptive dailies to get the extra EXP before the Makeb story instead of after the Makeb story.

./facepalm (not to you, to EA)

I'm shocked they didn't see this happening. Personally, I wouldn't have done the stocking up of completed quests.

Reading about bolster being jacked up and being naked in PVP gives the best stats.

I'm beginning to wonder whats the purpose of a PTR if they don't listen to anyone, did they bug test this all out actually?

    Just a heads-up on this.

    This is NOT true.
You can save up 25 dailies turn them all in and get to 51. But not 55. That's impossible.

Anecdotal evidence is not evidence. In fact, 200 FP missions? How is that even possible? As far as I know, there aren't even that many FP missions in the game. Unless that person has been saving FP dailies for the last 200 days. For some reason, I'm not buying that.
