True, but the point is, those people are doing that constantly. Normally you would reproduce a bug, report and shut it, right? But those people are still there (the same ones, the same name etc.) waiting to kill other players, just to grief them. This is NOT point of the beta imho.

Blizzard agrees. People need to remember the post from Zarhym earlier in the Beta that says:
"If you come across a bug and you want to retain your ability to test in the beta, report it and don't exploit it."

None of which matters, because it's beta and not live.
It's at the point where it does matter, because the ganking of quest NPCs and of people zoning into certain areas has become so widespread it is interfering with what normal testers are trying to do. I can't remember the name of the spot - Gate of the Setting Sun, perhaps? The place you can buy PvP gear. Gankers are sitting there and one-shotting players who approach the vendors. And the graveyard there is bugged, and the dead players are having problems rezzing.

It's also possibly causing massive lag and possible disconnects in some areas.

So when it's so widespread that it is causing actual disruption in the operation of the beta testing, it's a real problem. It costs money and manpower to operate a beta, and when little shits like these griefers start rampaging causing as much trouble as they can using a well-known known and reported bug, that matters. If you don't think it does, then proceed at your own risk, I guess, and good luck to you.

As much as it is not nice to be on the receiving end, the fact that they do abuse such oversights/bugs means that even if those doing the abusing do not report it, then those on the receiving end will be.
Beta is the stage where you should be encouraging exploits/cheats so that they can be reported and fixed before release.

It is just unfortunate that the impact of it is proving so substantial.
Lets hope they fix it soon.

On the other hand, WHY is blizzard so slow fixing really critical bugs, that have a huge impact on the beta game play?

They don't need to fix every bug fast, only the really critical ones, especially the ones like this "bug" which also would be really easy to fix.

    How to kill them? :

    1) Roll a disc priest in full pvp gear
    2) Lure them to grommash hold
    3) Keep luring them into the room and hope that they dot you
    4) When they try to run out when garrosh is attack them, stun or fear them back in

Voilla, that's how you kill them, killed about 18 of them so far :P

This one is not easy to fix if you look at it. It's not a bug, technically -- it's an exploit which involves the entire system of gear stat scaling. It was caused by leaving the vendor in the Valley of the Four Winds open for anyone of any level to buy the gear, and now they've got an army of griefers to deal with. It's not as easy to flipping a switch.

Not a bug, they just let anyone buy the gear. With that much haste and crit at low levels you will have 5k haste and 100% crit chance and also 100%.

honestly, it's easier than you think. just hotfix the items to give them a minimum required level of 85. voila, fixed.

Kick them all from beta I say., and give them temporary bans on their regular accounts for griefing and hindering beta.

Sure it's a bug.. everyone knows it's a bug.. they probably found out about it from forums/people where it's actually reported!

Kill guards if they REALLY have nothing better to do. Fact people are still trying to exploit a KNOWN bug, to "have fun" ganking people that may be genuinely trying to test the game is stupid.

So everyone's going to be happy when a whole series of bugs turns up because enthusiastic testers logged off cos they got tired of being ganked by lowbies "testing" this issue some more? or they couldn't test an important questline because all the NPCs were murdered by these lowbies?

wow.. if you didnt know the moment you saw the vendor items had no level requirement.. well.. i dont know what to tell yah.. its blatantly not intended for a level one to have gear appropriate for lvl 85-86. there is literally no reason at all to spend 5 mins.. let alone 7 hours constantly ganking. just to try to figure out if this is working as intended or not.

People could just report the bug as high item level gear with no level requirement without having to exploit like mad, your statement is false.

  15. #35
I think it's funny that Blizzard failed to attach level restrictions to those items. This would not have been an obvious thing in the last 3 expansions they did?

  16. #36
They didn't attach level restrictions because technically those items are the quest rewards for Jade Forest quests. As quest rewards, they won't have a level requirement, since the quest itself has a level requirement.

That being said, although I see the point of people wanting to test out the extent of this bug (I believe the bug is actually having the NPC sell gear to anyone, should've opened to option to buy gear after finishing the initial quest that levels you to 86), the griefers are abusing the hell out of it.

It's not so much killing people. I see groups of them ganking everyone that ports in to Valley of the Four Winds (another massive oversight by Blizzard imo, porting both Horde and Alliance to the same, non-Sanctuary spot), and piling up corpse upon corpses of people who don't know better. People log off after a while but the corpses stay there, and so many mounting up in the same place ends up grinding the game to a halt. Everytime I get in close proximity to Pang's Stead (I play on Gilneas), my otherwise 60+ FPS everywhere in the game grinds down to 10-15 FPS on standstill.

My computer is not too bad and I can raid at 60 FPS in DS everywhere but the fights that end up naturally reducing the FPS because of combat limitations (like H Spine or H Ultraxion after the green buff). I had memory leaks and crashes sometimes when flying near that zone. I feel bad for those people with not-so-good machines.

Anyway, it's pretty much "power corrupts - absolute power corrupts absolutely"; people see they can obtain godmode, they will do their best to show off to everyone. I don't think you really need much brainpower to realize that a character with 5000% haste/crit and pretty much impervious to player attacks will 1-shot mostly everything there. I'm 100% sure you don't need to gank people for hours on end to realize that.

So, I do agree that they need to have their beta access stripped.
