The Seige of Orgrimmar (My Version)

    The Siege of Orgrimmar
    -What you need to know-
    - Many of the Orcs, Goblins and few Tauren remain loyal to Garrosh.
    - Garrosh has been playing with fel powers he cannot understand.
    - Jaina Proudmoore has become rage fuelled (Sha corrupted) and has not been seen since Varian told her to leave Stormwind (Happens in prior patch).

Players will start off in Azshara and enter via the Orgrimmar Rear Gate where they will fight against a blockade of Garrosh loyal archers and grunts as they attempt to repel the attackers (us).

Players will be accompanied by various faction leaders depening on Horde or Alliance (Baine and Vol'jin for Horde, Varian and Tyrande for Alliance.

First Boss - Ag'tor Bloodfist and Labor Captain Grabbit
(The orc and goblin currently in charge of the defense of the Orgrimmar Rear Gate)

-Ag'tor Bloodfist will call Orgrimmar Grunts and Archers to his side throughout the fight.
-Labor Captain Grabbit will throw dynamite and plant mines that need to be avoided.
-Ag'tor Bloodfist will have a Bladestorm type ability and stacks Sunder Armor on the main tank.
-Labor Captain Grabbit cannot be tanked.
-At 50% Labor Captain Grabbit will retreat into Orgrimmar due to being a coward and a goblin.
-The longer the fight goes for the faster the Archers and grunts will spawn.

After gaining access to Orgrimmar players will make there way through the canyon path whilst being taunted by Labor Captain Grabbit as he sends Shredders and Hellscream Demolishers your way.

Second Boss – Labor Captain Grabbit
    (Take two)

    PHASE 1
-Labor Captain Grabbit has found himself a giant advanced Shredder.
-Labor Captain Grabbit will continue to throw dynamite out of the cockpit.
-Throughout the fight Labor Captain Grabbit will use a new mechanic called “Power”, Which is depleted when he uses special abilities in his shredder (Maximum Power is 100)
-Labor Captain Grabbit will use abilities that he thinks is best to fight your raid group.
-When players stack up the boss will use an AoE flamethrower dealing extremely high damage that must be spread out between players, costing him 25 Power, The longer the flamethrower goes for the higher damage it deals.
-When players spread out the boss will randomly charge an individual and attempt to Shred you, Players must move out of the way before he reaches you, Costs the boss 10 Power, The more the boss charges the harder is becomes (Becomes impossible to dodge after 3 charges).
-Players must swap the boss in between his Flamethrower and charge phases to deplete his Power.
-Once the boss has ran out of Power he will enter phase 2, The boss will power down for 20 seconds where he takes increased damage, after that 20 seconds Labor Captain Grabbit recharges the shredder and uses a new set of abilities.

    PHASE 2
-Labor Captain Grabbit has now enraged and does increased physical damage.
-Labor Captain Grabbit will now use his surroundings to his advantage, he will throw various Orgimmar landscape at the players (The carts, Barrels/Boxes, Cactus/Trees).
-The aim of this fight is to do as much damage in phase 1 as possible before pushing into Phase 2 where is is a DPS race.

After the death of Labor Captain Grabbit players will continue through the Valley of Honor and into the Hall of the Brave (Where the training dummies/Warrior trainer is).

    Mini-boss – Gor the Enforcer
(This is the orc currently in The Dranosh’ar Blockade who boasts about how much better Garrosh is when compared to Thrall in his quest line).

-Gor the Enforcer is nothing special.
-Gor the Enforcer will do a shockwave, cleave and a throw weapon type ability on a random player.

Once Gor the Enforcer has been dealt with the next boss encounter will enter the room attempting to surround the raid group.

    Third Boss – Hellscream’s Elite
(Hellscream’s Elite is made up of several of the current class trainers in Orgrimmar including, Blademaster Ronakada (Warrior), [B]Nohi PlainswalkerB] (Hunter), Zevrost (Warlock), Ormok(Rogue) and Ureda(Mage).)

-You may notice Hellscream only allows Orcs and Tauren in his elite team.
-Players will have an extra action button named For the Alliance / For the Horde, that allows them to break out of a CC effect, This has a 1 min CD.

-The Hunter, Warlock and Mage cannot be tanked.
-The Warrior will apply sunder armor (Will stack).
-The Rogue will apply Deadly Poison (Will stack).
-The tanks must tank swap with their targets so there stacks do not become unhealable.
-The mage will cast frostbolts slowing down raid members, The mage will sheep random players for 15 seconds (CANNOT BE CAST ON TANK), The mage will also have a Water Elemental casting weaker frostbolts (waterbolts).
-The Warlock will cast shadowbolts, fear players (CANNOT BE CAST ON TANK) and DoT up a random player which must be dispelled, The warlock will also have his Imp out that will cast weaker shadowbolts.
-The Hunter cast Cobra Shots and apply serpent sting, He will also fire off MULTIPLE freeze traps around the raid room which must be avoided, The hunter will also have a pet out which melee swings for small damage.
-WHEN a class trainer feels he is taking a lot of damage (If all players swap to a trainer for more than 30 seconds) he/she will cast a defensive cooldown, each defensive cooldown will last 30 seconds:
-Warrior will use Advanced Shield Wall (99% less damage taken), he will also stop attacking.
    -Hunter will use Deterence.
    -Mage will use Iceblock.
    -Rogue will vanish.
-Warlock will sacrifice its pet and gain a shield (Will summon a new pet while shielded), warlock will stop casting while shielded.

-To summarise this fight, Tanks will need to tank swap between the Rogue and Warrior.
-Players must avoid traps and use their For the Alliance / For the Horde button if they are feared or sheeped (Or fail to a trap).
-DPS can either spread out amongst the bosses and burn them down or they can focus on one until it uses its Defensive CD and then swap to another, moving between them like that.

After the death of the Hellscream Elite players leave the Valley of Honor and go into the Drag where they find that the path to The Valley of Strength (Where Garrosh is) has been walled off, So they continue to go the longer way through The Valley of Wisdom.

    ---CUTSCENE TIME---

Players enter the Valley of Wisdom to find large groups of Grimtotem tauren argueing with Garrosh loyal tauren, a fight breaks out amongst them and many Tauren are killed before Magatha Grimtotem emerges from a tent kills all Tauren who are not Grimtotem. Magatha then goes on to boast about how the Grimtotem are the only Tauren she needs to defeat us and that Cairne’s old forces were just a waste of rations.

    ---END CUTSCENE---

Players fight several waves of Grimtotem tauren before being confronted by Magatha herself.

    Fourth Boss –Magatha Grimtotem
(The bitch that killed Cairne Bloodhoof)

When pulling Magatha depending on your faction a short convocation is held between Magatha and Baine Bloodhoof OR Magatha and Varian depending on your faction.

-Magatha will call two Grimtotem tauren from her tent to assist her at the start of the fight, kill these.
-Magatha will poison her weapon reducing her targets maximum HP to 50%, This cannot be avoided.
-Magatha (being a shaman) will use multiple elemental type abilities such as:
-Heavy Rain, Magatha will spawn heavy rain which causes pools of water to spawn on the ground, slowing down movement by 50% whilst in them.
-Each 10% of Magatha’s health pool she will cast Thunder Strike, All players will be struck by lightning, IF a player is standing in a pool of water at the time the player will be electrocuted causing them to be 1 shot.
-Magatha will use Lava Burst on the tank which MUST be interrupted.
-Magatha will Flame Shock a raid member which must be healed through.
-Magatha will use an Earthbind totem which roots players to the floor, IF a player is rooted in the pool of water the totem MUST be killed before the Thunder Strike comes in.
-The longer the fight goes for the more of the room will be covered in pools of water, this acts as an enrage timer.

At 1 HP Magatha kneels down and swears she regrets nothing, Depending on your faction either Varian or Baine Bloodhoof beheads the bitch.

NPC’s set up camp here, Players will be able to repair their gear, etc.

Players make their way through the side passage towards The Valley of Strength to see that the entrance to the Valley of Spirits has been walled off.

    ---CUTSCENE TIME AGAIN---

NOTE: YOU ARE STILL STANDING INFRONT OF THE WALLED OFF VALLEY OF SPIRITS

Just as the raid team is about to make its way down the ramp into the Valley of Strength, Garrosh Hellscream appears standing ontop of Grommash Hold (The big tower thingy), The camera zooms in and shows Garrosh with firey red eyes, it is clear now that he has been playing with Demonic powers and has been corrupted by Fel energy… He is Fel Orc.

Garrosh calls upon many of his remaining Grunts (All Fel Orcs now too) to attack and kill the raid group, A large force (Too big for your group to defeat) then approaches your raid group and a speech is given by your faction leader about fighting to the death for the glory of the [INSERT FACTION HERE].

As it seems all hope is lost the wall to the valley of spirts bursts open and Jaina Proudmoore followed by several Theramore survivors and Kul Tiras soliders enter the room, Jaina Proudmoore (Now corrupted by the Sha due to her hatred for the Horde) kills all of the Fel Orcs and then freezes your raid group, Jaina then goes on to explain what she had been doing for the past year and how it was finally time for her to get her revenge on Garrosh Hellscream, She orders her soliders to take you back to there basecamp they had setup (Inside the Valley of Spirits) and tie you up.

    --END CUTSCENE

You find yourself tied up with your faction leaders in a small Theramore camp just inside of the Valley of Spirits, You are being mocked by Soldiers and there Captain.

It is then when Varok Saurfang heroic leaps in and frees you (For Alliance he explains how Varian had helped him in his time of need and now he will show the same kindness, For Horde he explains how it is time that they finally stop Garroshs reign).

Players defeat a few waves of Kul Tiras / Theramore trash mobs with the help of their faction leaders and Saurfang.

    Fifth Boss –Theramore Captain
(Will edit this at a later time to give this guy an actual name / story)
    (This guy is a paladin)

    PHASE 1
-The Theramore Captain is mounted on his horse.
-Players standing behind the horse will be kicked in the face dealing high damage and be knocked back.
-He will also consecrate the ground the tank will have to move him out of this
-He will also call out for cannon fire from nearby cannons , players must move out of this.
-The captain will swap between using a Shield/Sword and a lance.
-When the captain uses his lance he deals 50% extra damage and applies a bleed on the main tank.
-When using the shield he takes 50% less damage.

(This phase is meant to be easy).

    PHASE 2
Once the Theramore Captain reaches 65% he will dismount off his horse and throw down his weapons, he will give a speech about how Jaina and the Sha had showed him.

-The Theramore Captain transforms into a giant Sha.
-The Sha puts fear into everyone souls giving them a bar called “Willpower” (0-100).
-If the bar reaches 0 the player will become Sha corrupted and turn against his allies.
-This will work very similar to the Cho’gall fight, everytime a player fails to a mechanic they will lose some of there “Willpower”.
-The Sha will spawn circles of black on the ground which if stood in for too long will cause the player to take damage and lose Willpower.
-At 30% the Sha will cause all of the dead Theramore soldiers (Those killed in the trash) to come back to life as Sha possessed soliders, These soldiers move incredibly slow but wherever they walk they taint the ground causing it to deal damage and lose Willpower if stood on, This taint lasts the entire fight. These soldiers hit extremely hard.
-After all soldiers are dead the boss will enrage dealing 50% more damage to his current target.

(To clarify, You are meant to kite the soldiers for as long as you can whilst you are able to get the boss as low as you can so once the soldiers are dead you do not have to deal with the enrage debuff for too long, That being said if you leave the soldiers alive for too long you will run out of room as they corrupt the floor they walk on)

Once killing the Sha your raid group accompanied by your faction leaders and Varok Saurfang make your way back to the Valley of Strength, Upon entering the Valley of Strength you see many dead Theramore Soldiers and Fel orcs littered accros the ground but are unable to see either Jaina or Garrosh Hellscream.

Players make there way into Grommash Hold where yet again.

    --ANOTHER CUTSCENE
Players stumble upon an epic fight between Garrosh Hellscream and Jaina Proudmoore, Players watch as both bosses taunt each other, Just as it appears Jaina Proudmoore is about to kill Garrosh Hellscream, Garrosh shows his true Fel powers and grabs Jaina by the throat and throws her across the room knocking her unconscious.

Then your faction leaders accompanied by Saurfang approach Garrosh and the final fight begins
    --END CUTSCENE

    Final boss –Garrosh Hellscream

    PHASE 1
-Garrosh Hellscream will randomly charge a player and begin to strangle them dealing A LOT of damage per second strangled, The tank must taunt the boss and a player must deal a 100k hit for this to be broken.
-Garrosh Hellscream will use the axe Gorehowl to rip through the tanks armor and mortally wounding him, causing him to bleed 250% of his maximum healthpool over 10 seconds, its recommended tanks swap at this point.
-Garrosh Hellscream will roar increasing all players damage taken by 10% for 10 seconds, this will stack up to 10 times.

    PHASE 2
-At 70% Garrosh Hellscream will enter phase 2
Garrosh Hellscream beings to taunt Saurfang, calling him a traitor.
-Garrosh Hellscream stops mortally wounding the tanks.. for now.
-Garrosh Hellscream will begin throwing axes out at incredible speed to random players in the raid, putting a dot on them.
-This 10% of the fight must go incredibly quick or the dots will stack up and become unhealable.

    PHASE 3
-At 60% Garrosh Hellscream will knock back all players, He then Thunderclaps the ground causing the floor to crack, As the fight continues the ground beneath the players begins to spread out much like an earthquake, Falling inbetween the cracks results in falling down and death.
-Garrosh Hellscream will, Bladestorm around the room, players must avoid this whilst avoiding the cracks made in the floor.
    - Garrosh Hellscream will use the axe Gorehowl to rip through the tanks armor and mortally wounding him, causing him to bleed 250% of his maximum healthpool over 10 seconds, its recommended tanks swap at this point, again.

    PHASE 4
-At 25% Garrosh Hellscream will drink ANOTHER vial of Fel blood causing him to grow in size and deal a shit tonne of extra damage.
    -Garrosh Hellscream gains all new abilities for this phase, including;
-Garrosh calls upon all surviving archers of his Horde into the room, These must be killed immediantly, these mobs will cover the room in Arrows which must be avoided.
-Garrosh will begin to spawn tenticals out of his back that will throw players around the room.
-Garrosh will charge random players and throw them against the wall causing them to be stunned for 15 seconds.
-For every 30 seconds (15 seconds for 25 player) this phase goes for Garrosh will charge a random player and execute them, Killing them instantly (CANNOT BE CAST ON TANK).

    At 10% a cinematic begins.

    ---EPIC CINEMATIC---

Saurfang orders the horde/alliance forces to stop there attack, he claims it is not the horde way to murder a Warchief, He then challenges Garrosh Hellscream for a one on one duel for leadership of the Horde, Which Garrosh MUST accept (Even though he is already wounded).

An epic battle occurs which results in the death of Garrosh Hellscream and Varok Saurfang being crowned the new Warchief of the Horde.

Jaina awakens consciousness just in time to see Saurfang being crowned the new leader and teleports away… Where she went is unknown for now.

    THE END

PS: If you actually read all of that you must be as bored as i am!
PSS: This is my first attempt at anything like this, clearly some of the Lore is flawed and some of the boss fights are quite boring but if you atleast slightly enjoyed reading my version of Orgrimmar then i didnt waste my time! Feel free to post what you think some of the boss fights should/could be like!

I hope we kill Magatha at some point, but remember, Garrosh doesn't like her at all because she rigged the duel between him and Carine. I don't think we'll see her at the siege. Other then that, it was an epic read. Get's me excited for MoP!

  3. #3
I have to ask, why would ANY tauren remain loyal to garrosh?

Remembered his actions in stonetalon, guess I could see some following him

Read all of it(cept a couple boss mechanics, sorry I'm tired XD) but it does sound really good, I would not be upset by this raid

    Fourth Boss –Magatha Grimtotem
(The bitch that killed Cairne Bloodhoof)
    LAWL

OT: Some good stuff, for sure. But, I don't think it would feel that epic as an end raid. I feel like Blizz is going to change up shit a little more, at least I hope.

??? It's fan fiction. There's like a million years of it on the internet. entertaining one's self is never a waste of time...

A great read! I hope you aren't a dev and that I just spoiled this epic raid for myself lol. I think Magatha will have a part in the seige of Ogrimar, in thousand needles she shows up at the end of the quests to obtain a dangerous artifact from the Twilight Hammer clan, then she just poof disappears. I'm an Alliance fan boy and all, but sadly I think Jaina will have a part in the siege of Ogrimar but will be a raid boss her self. . . I think ol Jaina is gonna die sadly. Hope i'm wrong, but since we are bumping off Garrosh maybe she will die too at some point in Mists of Pandaria. I thought about the conclusion of the Siege of Ogrimar and I think Aggra will be the new Warchief, sometimes when a clan or faction is torn up and needs healing only a woman can nuture those wounds. I also see her child being born "Dovakin" at the conclusion of the raid, and he will be raised up to be a sort of golden child or the prophecy baby for the horde. Saurafang is just too old to lead the horde, they need someone not tainted and someone Thrall can trust. Why bring Aggra into the story at all, if not she had a very very important role for the noble horde.

haha thank you for actually reading it!

like i said the lore is pretty flawed at times and if given alot more time this could become alot more epic but i had fun writing this

  10. #10
Now this, is awesome. I hope Blizzard does something close to this, because I would totally look forward to this sort of thing at the end of MoP. nice!
Eagerly waiting one expansion at a time for the Tinker/Mechanic/Engineer class since 2010

  11. #11
I love this and I wouldn't mind this happening I would only change two things. Saurfang should only work with the Alliance as a means to an end not cause Varian helped him. Also Garrosh hates Magatha so I wouldn't see how she would fit. Like the idea of Jaina's role in the raid.

Spend this to Blizzard right now, this is absolutely amazing.

But here are some things I think you should think about aswell. I would have you throw in all the Faction Leaders as it feels everyone is involved in this, I also thought Garrosh hates the Tauren & they feel the same way. The Willpower ability reminds me of Yogg-saron with the Sanity Buff. What do the faction leaders & Saurfang do during the fight with Garrosh? will they provide Buffs at all??, Also if Garrosh is Fel Corrupted why those he have Tenticales ? Why not huge Spikes thats he use to charge with and impale a random raid member. Gamon should be a boss as Garrosh hates Magatha Grimtotem, so I think Gamon would work much better, he could be the leader of the Tauren in Garrosh's Elite Team.

Heres my own idea for raid ending cinematic:
I think Thrall should be there and Thrall states how it a mistake to make Garrosh Warchief and Thrall with Anger fueling inside of him charges Garrosh and Thrall knocked into the wall and is wounded while Baine / Tyrande (Faction based) aid him. Vol'jin states that he is gunna kill Garrosh and Varok says "no I will face him" Varian offers to join him (Alliance Side) Baine offers to join him (Horde Side) and he refuses saying he must do this alone and than challenges him saying he will not see the Horde falling down this path any longer and will end Garrosh even if it costs him his life. Varok is successfull in killing Garrosh. Thrall states that what Varok did proves that he deserves to be Warchief and that he was the right choice all along and Thrall kneels before Varian saying he will no longer wish to be a enemy of the Alliance and that he a higher duty of protecting all of Azeorth including the Alliance and that all Horde actions should not represent him or his actions. Varian and the other present Alliance Leaders accept his act for peace. Varian also states that he will be watching the Horde and if they do anything that puts any Alliance lives in Jeopardy, That Horde be ready to defend themselves and Varok says like wise than Jaina wakes up, she looks at both Varian and Varok and she yells at him and Varok saying that and now she can never get her revenge since Garrosh is dead and says that the Alliance & Horde will pay for it. Thrall also trys to reason with her and she looks at him and threatens to kill him and says "You are the reason for all of this, you will pay, you will all pay" she than teleports out. At this time Varian for the Alliance & Varok for the Horde state that "Regardless of the outcome here, the Alliance & Horde are still enemies but will only put aside there differences if both sides are threatened and Azeroth is in trouble. The War ends and the Alliance agree to pull out of the Barrens if the Horde agree to pull out of Ashenvale. Around Azeroth smalls change occur while Ashenvale & The Barrens appear to have the bulk of changes. The Alliance than leave by portal provided by a group of Alliance Mages. When they are gone Varok than speaks to present faction leaders and thanks them for there support and loyalty to the true Horde and states that they will all run the Horde together as one. My little additon there hope you like it

That sounded pretty epic! Nice work! I could actually picture everything you described happening(minus the Magatha bit with her as a boss).

  16. #16
This was a great read. Sounds like a truly epic take on the SoO.
    Let's hope we'll get something this good : )

Although I must say I do believe we will see Gallywix, being the leader of loyal goblins, protecting his investment etc. Making war-machines for Garrosh.
And (SPOILER SPOILER) in some of the sound files Voljin mentions something about these beasts Garrosh has gathered for himself. Which might make an additional fight, or as trash.

And as a personal note I would like to see some action in the shadow cleft, revealing a bit more about the dark stuff Garrosh has been toying with.

  17. #17
To be completely blunt, it seems like you just pulled a lot of mechanics from other fights throughout the years and shoved them all together into a single raid. The numbers are too high, especially for the Garrosh fight. Far too much damage to be healed through. The insta-gib mechanic reeks of RNG based progression mechanics.

I agree with this, replace the Theramore captain with Gamon and you have a solid list of bosses

also I liked most of the mechanics though having an instant death RNG mechanic on a boss (garrosh phase 4) would not be a good decision I could imagine the QQ already when both healers get targeted for the first two....

You deserve some major points for putting this together.

A good read, well thought out and quite plausible. Some nice ideas for new raid mechanics and story elements too.
Knowledge is power, and power corrupts. So study hard and be evil.

Why do people keep on talking about Garrosh getting aid from Fel Orcs, Warlocks and Magatha?

Don't you know he's against all those things? He's against demonic power, so Fel Orcs and Warlocks are ruled out.
And he pretty much hates Magatha for messing up his duel with Cairne.

For Garrosh to work together with those, he'd have to do another 180 degree personality turn.
Something a lot of people have complained about earlier when he changed in WotLK en later Cataclysm.

It simply doesn't add up guys.
Garrosh being possessed by the Sha seems far more likely, since it doesn't contradict previous lore.
