What does enjoying the job or not have to do with not wanting to get fired, or improving re-hirability?

I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!

There have been times when I've fixed bugs at 3am and genuinely enjoyed it because I've found the work fun and interesting. Hasn't happened in a long while, but that's just because the company as a whole is less pleasant to work at.

Looking at these pics I can't help but imagine how unhappy those Blizzard employees must be working on those broken buggy games. Poor Blizz!

Aye. These people are usually on top of divorce and trouble child statistics. Your life is not yours alone when you're an adult.

Thinking how satisfied they must be with their jobs and general philosophy I don't think their families would suffer for it. In fact, I think it'd be the opposite.

Yeah, usually being happy and low on stress prevents family problems... seeing as most family problems are actually caused by people being stressed.

Everything works in balance. If you are so thrilled to go into work at midnight to fix an issue, I highly doubt the wife or husband you leave behind is thrilled about the amount of time the job takes away from the family.

Not every adult is married and / or has kids.

I was thinking this myself... Sure it's good they enjoy their job, but everything has to come in moderation! Including working regardless of how amazing you may find it..
