    Change name to Blizzard Champion.

I came here back in the day to read about MMOs, since ya know, its called MMO champion. Granted the strong MMO at the time was WoW, and still is WoW.

Today I stumbled across this post : http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...4-The-one-time

In which Boub admitted that this is a Blizzard fansite. Ya know, if I google MMO, woah, MMO-C is the top result. Its almost as if they're trying to mislead folks into thinking this is a gaming fansite.... "Articles and forums with game news and raiding strategies." Point me to the last "gaming news" not directly related to Blizzard. And pulling up the TOR going F2P isn't fair, that was half news that was put up to generate hysteria.

    *sigh*

As has been said a million times before: it's just a name.
And even if you think it's false advertising, see it like this: WoW has largest subscriber count, thus is champion. Therefor: MMO Champion.
I believe this is even mentioned in the stickies.

Oh hello again. Its quite obvious that mmo-c is a wow fansite, its not exactly a secret..

The title of the website's front page is "MMO-Champion - World of Warcraft News and Raiding Strategies".

It makes sense to be mainly about World of Warcraft.

I can see where you are coming from. I too thought new about other mmo's might pop up here once upon a time. Just have to live with the fact its a wow site.

    Here's the reason why it's called MMO-Champion.

So, I already adressed that countless of times.

    • Yeah, MMO Champion was supposed to talk about multiple MMOs.
    • Yeah, it's not the case because WoW is where everything happens and it would be stupid to talk about other MMOs because my readers don't care
    • I actually play Rift and enjoy it, but as I said I'm not going to do something for 1% of my readers that will annoy the other 99%. If Rift
becomes big and successful I might reconsider.

That's the short version but I'm sure you are a very reasonable person who will be happy with a short explanation.

    2. We don't close these talks, we close Rift threads when a stupid guy creates a 387484737th one instead of posting on the ones already up in the Video Games forum.
    3. A way to fulfill all my attention whoring needs.
    4. I'm an asshole and don't want you to discuss any other games, that's why I have a Video Games forum for non-WoW talk.

In the website title you read:

MMO-Champion - World of Warcraft News and Raiding Strategies. Articles and forums with game news and raiding strategies.

I too found it annoying how it can have a name like ''MMO-Champion'' if its only about WoW, but after a while I didn't mind. But what caught my eye is that Boub was suddenly posting Diablo 3 news all over the WoW news, because it only indicates that he's interested in posing BLIZZARD news, not WOW news.

This only made me want to discuss further into changing the name ''MMO-Champion'' into ''Blizzard-Champion'' because lets face it, you post Blizzard news, not MMO news. Diablo 3 is no MMO, it has no relation with WoW whatsoever, except that they have the same developer, which is the Blizzard in ''Blizzard-Champion''.

If the browser title clearly says ''World of Warcraft News and Raiding Strategies'', it would look damn stupid to suddenly see Diablo 3 news all over the place. You should either change the text into ''World of Warcraft and Diablo News and Raiding Strategies'', or don't post D3 news at all.

What also recently caught my eye... Boub didn't mind to post a SW:ToR post about them considering going F2P. Why only that? Why not some actual good news?

MMO-Champion could also mean ''The champion site for MMO's''. As for ''its just a name'', it would look pretty stupid if I started my own pet store with the name ''Bobby's Cookies''.

One of the WoW search engine sites is named "Thottbot". Just sayin.

The release of Diablo 3 was literally one of the biggest traffic day on MMO-Champion. Just because you don't care doesn't mean it applies to everyone.

The fact that D3 was bundled with the annual pass for over a million players makes it "slightly" relevant.

Contrary to what you might believe I DO care.

I'd consider D3, and D2 for that reason to be pretty close to MMOs so I don't mind when news is posting regarding D3.

However, being an MMO enthusiast, I like to know about new MMOs on the horizon, news in current MMOs (Warhammer or TOR going F2P would be huge news to most MMO lovers). When I first was introduced to MMO-C, there was plenty of news surrounding other MMOs, not just obscure forums for them. I'd also be willing to bet that most WoW players are chopping at the bit for the next MMO to give a go.

If your main news providers are hard up for WoW, and only care about WoW, maybe time to add a few reputable posters to discuss other MMOs. I've just found myself wondering lately why I check MMO-C daily when I never care about any of the news, and have to search the forums for anything newsworthy. Clearly it's a habit to break, and my daily checkup on all things MMO is better directed at Massively.com.

I'm pretty sure there are sub-forums to talk about other MMOs. You could always post news in them if you wanted to, not that it would end up on the front page.

So I was looking for staples, but most everything in boxes labeled Staples was anything but staples and when I went to look for the problem online, the first search result was for an office supplier... damn that company should really change the name since it's so damned confusing. But I still find myself looking for staples in the same boxes labeled Staples! Damn anyone who would suffer from the company changing their name, I won't!
Think of me what you will, but it's not you I don't like, just some of the things you do.
