yes people still play it, I find this game to be alot more fun then WoW

Don't see why they wouldn't make an expansion if the game isn't dead, just like WoW is still making expansions since 04.

FFXI active subscriptions is something like 300,000 to 350,000 right now.

Ultima Online and Everquest are still getting expansions as well. As long as enough people are playing these games there will be incentive to develop new content for the customers.

I remember when I first played you had to have a group. I could kill something by myself every two hours. Once you get past that it is pretty fun.

A lot more people playing FFXI than FFXIV. Plus, they need to keep making money to fix the latter. SE also said they would continue supporting both.

I just got back to FFXI, alot has changed but still fun, really cant wait for this expansion. its gonna blow MoP away

The new jobs announced are Geomancer and most recently Rune Fencer, for anyone that cares.
