    Engineering Mounts...

Anyone else disappointed by the Geosynchronous World Spinner (If it was Geosynchronous it wouldn't move!)? I was hoping it would be something interesting, turns out it's a generic rocket; doesn't even look particularly Gnomish to me.

Now the Depleted-Kyparium Rocket not only looks Goblin, cool and it has a Radio and a Machine Gun that you can shoot for visual effect... If we ever see any features given to the World Spinner what will they be? The model has nothing, it's bland.

    I'm not a happy Gnome.

Looking at the screenshots of the Geosynchronous World Spinner I have to say I agree with you in that it does look a bit generic. I don't get the sense of anything particularly Gnomish from it...no bulging pipes, whirling gears, articulating arms or anything really. The Depleted-Kyparium Rocket has goblin slathered all over it.

I did not notice any requirements other than Apprentice Riding...will these be available to all like the chopper/hogs?

Not sure yet, they're handed out to everyone with engineering on MoP beta right now. I can't see them being engineer only though, tbh.

I agree. I thought it was going to be something much more out there then a rocket. Furthermore, since it is just a rocket, they should have given it the Planet Express Ship color scheme... I mean come on! That description...

Something like that is what I pictured but with more gnomish flair.

I much prefer the gnome one, the goblin one is way too small for me.

    This.

I expected anything BUT a Rocket; it's just not a very Gnomish thing.

What do gnomes use to fly though, I'd love that inspector gadget chopper thing we get when we we being cleaned in the starting zone. Or the planes we see in gnomeregan. Just reskin it with a nicer texture and blam, a cool new nice looking gnomish mount.

    I'm just happy there's a crafted BoE rocket : )

However, I do agree it should spin. I was thinking something like a cup with a giant propeller under it (kind of like the Dr. Eggman picture above but with a propeller).

I was really hoping for some sort of crazy flying contraption, I don't see the point of yet another rocket.

It's also not very well designed as your legs stick out the bottom of it..

I think it looks like crap

Just relax it can all change and im sure it will, The gnome rocket looks so underwhelming compared to the goblin but despite that i still prefer the gnome one as goblins is too bulky.

I imagine that the World Spinner is just a placeholder graphic for the time being.

I belive the same its too basic for gnomes, I imagine the back end of it will spin to help empathize it's name then add random gadgets around it, Maybe give it an awesome paint job.

Notably, people confuse Geosynchronous with Geostationary. A geostationary world mover would not go anywhere. A geosynchronous would be able to move back and forth... Of course, if its synchronous path were constantly changed, it could move the world as it wished.

I like the look and shape of the orange one. Even if it is a little bland.

edit: why does it have exhausts when its rocket powered?

I was hoping for a mimi head reskin :<

Or some kind of 'not a machine' thing, like you just levitate with some cool animation deal (as though you were staying in place and the world was moving around you)

I was hoping it was going to be some kind of disc that you stood on.

Part of me thinks that as a rocket it's a reference to the ship from Futurama, which is revealed in one episode to move by staying still and causing the universe to move around it. The little fins on the back are also kind of the same shape as the one on the show.
