I've had to stop a couple of break in attempts and never once did I see a neighbor ever even step outside until tons of cops were there.

I'd probably cut him a check for a 100 bucks or something. I don't really cook, and I can't guarantee he or I would enjoy an intimate and very awkward dinner for two, so that's probably how I'd thank him. If it was a woman, dinner's back on the table.
