Looking to buy a new computer, but is it worth the money?

I was wondering if upgrading from my current laptop, a HP Pavilion DV-7 3130ED (http://uk.hardware.info/productinfo/...specifications) And am planning on getting:

    MoBo: ASRock H67M-GE 74,90
    CPU: Intel Core i5-2310 159,90
    RAM: G.Skill DIMM 8GB DDR3-1600 45,49
    GPU: ASUS EAH6850 DC/2DIS/1GD5/V2 119,90
    HDD: WD10EZRX 1TB 87,90
    Casing: CM Elite 430 43,99
    Power: Cooler Master GX450 44,99

    Total: 577.07

Would there be a significant difference between the two? I'm aching to get back into PC Gaming, and my laptop doesn't run newer games that well.
Also, are there any better parts for this setup, while still staying in the 550-600 euro area?

You do know the i3 is a DC, right, hapy? if you can afford it spend the extra 60 bucks and get an i5 2500k, it easily beats that CPU by a mile, and it's only ~60 bucks more. It might even be 40 bucks for you since whereever you're seeing that CPU at (i5-2310) is 20 bucks less than Newegg's, mind linking it for us?

It is going to be like night and day :P
With such a low budget like your you wont get much better parts but it is still a LARGE improvement over that laptop of yours.

I'm not asking to play all games on max with ubersampling on or anything, i just want to be able to play them on low/medium. :P I hardly care about graphics, but i've been dying to play The Witcher II, and i can't on my laptop.

I'll see if i can find the site where i found the prices. It was a Dutch site, as i am dutch. :P
