I can say the same thing for my new comp specs as well. The only hiccup I occasionally experience is when I first arrive to a new zone right after i'm done with the loading screen, it'll lag for a second or two but smooth out perfectly afterwards.

I'm curious - it will be open beta weekend like last one before GW1 release or still "closed".

We don't know. I'd assume it will operate like the BWEs before it (closed to everyone except pre-purchasers and those who are invited). But it could be open, but I recall a quote that I can't be asked to find right now saying that they will not have an open beta.

Yes, I remember that quote as well.

    Le edit:

GuildWars2.ro: With the recently announced Closed Beta Events, are there any plans for a “real” Open Beta (or Open Beta Weekend) event prior to the game launch?
Martin: We will not have an Open Beta, what we will do is Beta Weekend Events. It’s a good opportunity to define what Open Beta is, because I actually have a different definition for it: the real definition of an Open Beta is one where you put your client out there and everybody in the world can download it and play all content, non-restricted in any given timeframe. That’s not what we will do. We will do specific Beta weekend events where there will be invites sent out in one form or another, but we will never have a Beta where everybody on the planet will be able to just grab the client and go play the game. It’s certainly a question that shows up a lot, and there’s a definite misunderstanding regarding the terminology.

Because a beta to them isn't a demo, it's a beta where the game is improved upon. If people want to try the game then they will probably have trials after the game launches.

I do not agree. There was a fairly substantial list of bug reports from BW2. There is also the optimization left to be done as well. They may be happy with content completion but the BWE3 is still more about testing for them than it is a sweetener for us. Betas are for them, not for us.

That's interesting since ArenaNet themselves have openly stated that BWE2 has significantly less bugs and more minor annoyances reported. Mind giving us the source for the "substantial list of bugs"?

I dont know about bugs, but what i do know is that the beta forums are filled with lists over things that should be in an mmo 2012, i just hope they have taken loads from those list and put into a new built we havent seen yet and with things i mean functions not content btw.

Well, it's closed from BWE2 now, but all you had to do was read through the support forum during the event and you could easily see there was still plenty to address. Granted, there should have been less than in BWE1 one would hope, but still more than they wanted to release. Hence, August release with a final BW to make sure they clear up most of what they found and that the optimization works.

This attitude / expectation has so become tiresome (not you personally but the idea in general). I can guarantee that this list contains group finder, add-ons and macro's to name but a few of the supposed "must" haves people seem to expect these days. Its come to the point where a game might as well ship with these things whether its designed to need them or not because people have become programmed to need them rather than accept a game on its own terms or perhaps give it time to bring these in over time as needed.

Now I cant say that I dont have my own wish list of things that Id love to see added but I can also appreciate the design decision to NOT include the things on my personal wish list if a developer chooses not to implement them for design reasons.

Right, I think I misunderstood your previous post then - it gave me the impression you were saying that there are so many bugs, the game won't be finished by the release date and will be buggy upon release.

Ah. Ya, bugs was probably the wrong term.

It is worth noting that getting together a group for dungeons will be a major pain in the ass if you aren't already part of a large guild where it's easy to find at least a handful of interested people. I still remember what it was like to hunt down groups in TBC.
I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

well they have a server list for ppl to drop in and out for the sPVP so it cant be too hard to implement a random pug finder for pve.

The real problem is that when one person says "group finder" another person will automatically think of WoW's implementation, instead of alternative methods.

Yes some things on those list was addons and such crap, but there are other nice things like FOV slider, and the abillity to turn of or on a bunch of stuff on the map and so on there where bad lists, and then there was some good lists

I really hope they add a FOV slider for those who need it, I don't think it is honestly that hard to program it in and get it tested. A Group Finder would be nice, and I don't mean a dungeon finder via WoW. Just an old school toss my name into a hat with a description of what I built my class for and what dungeon I want to do would be good
