They...sort of look like charr with scales to me
Not in the least. Charr have a Roman-inspired culture, what with the soldiers and the obedience to the legion and all that stuff.
The Dragonborn had a more Klingon-inspired culture - with ultra-emphasis on honor and tradition and all that. If anything, their culture is more similar to the Norn, except more with an emphasis on war, rather than peaceful hunting. http://dungeons.wikia.com/wiki/Drago..._%284e_Race%29
An entire player's handbook was devoted to the Dragonborn at one point - maybe in the near future I'll buy it.
You also might want to notice their posture.

I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.
If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.
Drake gets very defensive when it comes to gaming races and will not tolerate anything short of utter respect for their long and honorable fictional history. It is almost as bad as the inevitable jackass who will say GW copied WoW's dragon races if dragonborn are ever implemented.
Hey. They could give birth the mammalian way. Alien races do all sorts of crazy things.
Funny, the blog post I got those images from mentioned long-winded discussions about whether or not to have them with boobs. O_o
I highly doubt Arena Net would just fully rip off that race's entire design, and would do it their own way. I could see "Drakonids" or something, evolving from the various drake species we already encounter in the game - maybe not even by natural means (asura experiments?!).

it just gets me off the race that's all
like it's some kind of joke or something
Does it get you off Sylvari? O_o
Supposedly, the Dragonborn from WotC are technically mammals (or some kind of cross between mammal and lizard - technically, their race was magically created from a previous race, or something) and nurse their young, according to their lore. Just as Sylvari are simply created in the image of humans for unknown reasons, according to Arena Net's lore. *shrug*
It really doesn't matter either way, it's just one of those things that make me wonder... why not be consistent? Might as well question the Platypus while we're at it.

There's only one "Hylek" I will ever respect. His name is Glenn.
