    Making gold in mop?

So I haven't really had a lot of gold ever in wow max around 20k lol...

Seeing as mop isn't really too far away from release I'm trying to make some decent gold with my professions however I have no idea where to start. Right now the professions I have that are maxed are:
    Mining
    Herbalism
    Alchemy
    Inscription

Any Ideas on how to make some gold befor mop releases? Also I haven't keep up with all the profession changes so I was wondering on how you guys plan to make gold in the first few months of mop and whether you have any good ideas for me to try and make some profit.

    Thanks,

Yes just Mine, Herb and Skin, Fish, Loot everything in sight for the first 24 hours and sell it on AH at ridiculous prices, thats what I did in Cata and I made a fortune. I sold 2 Embersilk Cloth for 150 on the first night of Cata release, good times :P

There's big major difference between Cata and MoP. In Cata you was able to fly in new zones right at start. So you was able to learn mining, go to uldum and mine-mine-mine then sell-sell-sell. In MoP you won't be able to fly in new zones. Mining(herbing) using ground mounts? Have fun In result you won't be able to mine(herb) too much. No easy gold in MoP for you. Not in Cata' quantities at least. IMO.

There are plenty of ways to make gold. I came back to the game after a 7-month break about 6 weeks ago, and went from about 10k to now 120k in that time. I cannot offer a "the best gold per time" method, but i'll share with you some of the methods that have helped me.

First and foremost, Jewelcrafting is the current cash-cow of professions and I wouldn't expect that to change in MoP. That isn't one of your current professions, but if making gold is a goal for you, I would recommend it for any up and coming alts. Farming elementium / pyrite for a while, then prospecting a ton of it can yield lots of gold on the AH through various means (including sending green quality gems to your alchemist and xmuting inferno ruby and meta gems!).

If you have the time, doing a bunch of dailies every single day will make a noticeable boost in your virtual wallet, though it is much slower compared to the profession / AH route, and is better as a supplement.

One thing that I find a surprising number of people over-look, are the old Icecrown Tournament dailies. They don't yield as much gold as the Tol Barad or Molten Front dailies (those are usually 16 - 18g each), but it still produces a surprisingly high amount of gold for an old expansion's content (roughly 13g a quest). However the point to the IC tournament dailies are the tokens which you can use to buy pets (40 tokens per, or roughly 3.5 - 4 days per pet). This will vary by server, but on my server (Zul'jin - US East) these pets sell for 1400 - 1800g depending on the day. I have 3 characters doing the dailies each day, it churns out a hefty profit.

As for your current set of professions, they are not my primary sources of finance, so i'm sure many can give you tricks and methods better than I. However, I can say that on my server (and again, this will vary), stacks of Twilight Jasmine sell for 75 - 100g. Elementium stacks get sold plenty, but I never buy nor sell them, so I don't know what reasonable pricing is there. From Inscription, Runescrolls of Fortitude have sold fairly well on my server. Flasks can also sell decently from your alchemist.

I hope this helps! Good luck in your quest for cash!

This is true, but even farming mobs for cloth and there will still be a lot of new ores and herbs and people will pay high for them if they want server first on their professions, regardless of how many you are able to farm.

The supply may decrease but with limited supply comes and even higher demand. The price could and should stay high for much longer. Those that reach 90 first and have any gathering abilities will reap the rewards of not sleeping for a day or 2 by being able to farm with a flying mount.

Been wondering myself if i should churn out glyphs or do the level to 90 + herb/mine for money at the start of the expac. Also, on the note of glyphs - are the ones we make now going to be converted to the new ones in MoP or will the current ones that are changed for MoP be destroyed? It would be useful to be able to make a bunch of glyph before 5.0 hits if I knew what the conversion was from current glyph > MoP version.

Ya, but that just means that prices are going to be utterly insane for the first couple weeks and won't lower for a long time. 1500-2000 gold for a stack of herbs/ore probably won't be that far off.

Im thinking old mats could end up being a goldmine, with the cross server zones for low pop areas i imagine gathering any old mats except skinning would be a massive pain.
So banking up on a few of them pre mop might be a nice way to make gold on all of those monks.

Which will just drive up the price of the mats you do get.

Anyway, won't take long for people to get to 90 and fly. Heh, I bet people will be buying lifts from 90s with the 2seat rocket for a while.

P.S. Skinning was insane at launch, massive piles of skinnable corpses with little to no competition. It was expiring before I could skin it all. Then LW some of it into completely rubbish greens and blues (not even 333 blues just leveling junk) which sold for thousands on the AH. And with skinning there's no node competition to worry about.

I started a Shaman and i picked up Herb and Mining im only lvl 48 and already have over 2000g just by selling the herbs and the bars i make out of the ore. i guess it goes by what the AH is like on your server but i have found that these 2 professions are a good way of making money if u have time to farm.

    I'll be mining + skinning + fishing + herbing

Unfortunately not for personal gain, they're all for my guild for gear/feats/flasks :S

It sure was in Cata atleast, even more so in TB then most other zones. The croc killing quest was just pure gold. If something similar happens again skinning will be a winner.

Ill b Jewelcrafting and enchanting... Selling the decent gems and using the other gems 2 make gear to DE

The increase in difficulty of farming should INCREASE the price if anything, so it'll still be insanely profitable.

Prices were insane in TBC and LK, both you could not fly til max level. Prices will be very insane.

I think i may convert my blackfallow to old inks now and stock up on more old ink. Soon as MoP hits i'll churn out glyphs and level my miner/herbalist as a break from that and sell those raw mats on the AH.

I really do wish I could help but I have no idea

A safe route for you to go would be to power level to 90, get flying, and go herbing/mining in the max level zones. As not many will be there, and not many will have flying, you can get a near monopoly and make tons of gold.

I haven't really looked at the pet situation, but some are talking of stocking up on certain pets for pet battles. Is this viable?
