    5.1 configuration problem

    Hi,
    I have mobo ASRock H61M-HVGS with via hd audio deck soundcard. When i open via HDeck options i see this http://oi48.tinypic.com/fx81hv.jpg and there is no expert mode option (like http://windows7forums.com/attachment...roblem-via.jpg) I need that option to enable 5.1 sound, because it doesn't work properly. So my question is how to enable expert mode option?
    Some details - windows 7 64bit, also i tried with both newest and older drivers, but didnt fix the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

    You should be able to set the number of speakers in Windows 7 itself;

    This is found via the Control Panel-Hardware And Sound-Manage Audio Devices Sound menu, then by right clicking on your chosen output device and then choosing 'Speaker Setup'. As far as I'm aware, most Windows 7 sound drivers tie directly into the Windows 7 settings, so it should force it to switch to 5.1, hopefully this'll work for you.

    Yes, i'm able to choose that option but then, for unknown reasons, the subwoofer doesn't work. On the test option it works, but when playing winamp - it doesn't. My 5.1 system ozaki hm050 didnt had this problem on the old system (win xp, asus mobo with realtec sound)

    I'd check the LFE (Low Frequency Effects) Crossover sound handling in the Windows menus and try swapping it back and forth. Secondarily, check that the sub woofer's connection is in the right port on the sound card. Also check that the sound card's HDeck isn't interfering with this in anyway. Thirdly, check for effects along the lines of surround sound emulation/virtual environments and the like, which may be effecting this. As far as I'm aware, Winamp's standard input processing is done via DirectX related controls, so it will be directly effected by all the above. If there's a post processing sound emulation effect in action, it may be trying to output bass signals through the incorrect speaker.
