GW2: your favourite blogpost from Anet

    Hi

Most of us who followed the development of GW2 a while know the blogposts from the team. A lot of them are very informative, fun or/and interesting, but for newcomers the Anet-blog might be a bit overwhelming. So the idea for this thread:

1.) Post 1 to 3 favourite blogposts (direkt link to the post)
2.) write why this is one of your favourites in a few words.

this might be helpful for someone who is new and has no idea where to start without getting overwhelmed.

    my favourites:

Jon Peters about combat - GW2: a game without holy trinity
by far my favourite: Jon explains the pieces of the game which work together to get rid of the holy trinity.

    Dream and Nightmare
a great example for the lore blog-posts. I love how there is storytelling & explanation combined.

Hmmm, my first one is the Asura "Hey Bookah!" blog, that really made me fall for the Asura, and too the humor that the Dev's and writers had put into the game:

Second have to be the Golden Rules:

It sums up a lot of what they're trynig to do and too why they have chosen as they have with the game design and mechanics.

And the last one is the building community:

Because they shows what they want, for and with the player base, and it's just awesome.

Would like to put in the manifesto video somewhere...somehow. Because...well......it just has to.

I'm not even a sylvari fan, I just like that they decided "Ehh.. the Sylvari don't quite look right. They look good, but they could look better" and completely redesigned them.

I have played WoW for years and, my guildies can attest to this, I have always lamented -- maybe "bitched" is more apropos -- that design choices are rarely about making the game fun but rather addictive. And then I found out about GW2, which I still feel was developed specifically for me
