Discount on WoW till tomorrow - viable to RAF myself a MoP ?

Hey, i think many people already saw the Discount on the 3 Games, Classic till Cataclysm for 30eu (30$?) - thats even cheaper then ebaying chineses product keys.
With the release of MoP i want to RAF my Mainaccount, so i can create a Monk on Main, and level it with the RAF together. (i dont know if its enabled for monks or not, but i am positiv about this) - now my question:
When i want to buy the 3 Games i need to enter a Battle.Net Account. Can i just RAF myself right now a new BNet Account and activate the Codes later ? I know that the bonus only last 3 Months and who knows if the game in this timeframe released.

    Any thoughts ? Thanks

I also planned on doing the same thing however my plan was to just grant a monk to 80 with the grant a level system.
So far nobody has been able to confirm whether or not RAF will work on monks so I would wait before spending your money.

I tried to purchase the 'codes' as a gift or something to delay me activating them right away on a RAF account, but there was no option that I could see to do so (in EU atleast).

I've just bit the bullet and bought them anyway just incase it works. I assume that was what you were asking, if you can buy the codes to activate them later, but the answer is from what I can see, no.

The discount will do you no good for RAF in MoP. Release date is not even released ;p
I on the other hand went to a local store and convinced him that the prices dropped, he actually sold me the wow accounts for the same price on the blizzard store.

Got the keys ready for RAF!

I was thinking the same, but when i ticketed and asked about it the only answer i got was that they havent released any info if RAF will work and that i should keep an eye on their news about it.

Either way i decided to not buy them now, because of the risk of them getting wasted. Yes im that cheap!

On the other hand, i really think the expansion will come in the 3 months time frame that you have RAF active.

They'll announce that RAF doesn't work for Monks right after the sale ends.
People panic buying and all that :P

Yeah tell me about it, if RAF does not work, I will not be re-rolling a monk :<
and I pretty much want to.

I just don't think I will make it to 90 & be raid ready by the time my guild mates are ready to raid. Without risking dying, that is.

RAF will be removed by the time MOP will be released ! There's no point for blizzard to keep an offer to get more suscriptions when more people will reactivate their account for the purpose of the new extention !

It's already been said by blizz that those offers are time limited ^^

RAF worked with DKs. Both 300% xp and level granting. I'm pretty sure it worked with Goblins and Worgen, though I'm not 100% sure about them. There's no reason to believe that RAF will be turned off/not work for Monks and Pandaren.

I'm going to be buying a vanilla wow copy for $10 and holding on to the code. Then recruit myself when we know when the release date is since you can just hold on to the bought code. Then when there's less than a week left until release, I'm going to use the Wrath trial to level the RAF account to 80. Bam, level 80 monk for $10 spent. I'm willing to bet the $10 that Blizzard won't turn off RAF for MoP in order to save myself 30-40 hours of level 1-80 the normal way.

What the fuck are you talking about? The buy WoW, WotLK, and Cata for $10 each is a limited offer, but Recruit-A-Friend has been around since Burning Crusade. The only time RAF has changed is when it got buffed to allow its effects up to level 80 in Cata.

This is the type of thing that makes me worry that Monk will become the next huntard or Death Noob stigma that I very much dislike.

Someone, anyone, please assure me that even if someone uses RAF to skip the first 80 levels that they will still try to learn their class rotation.

Although I'm sure people will point out that wanting to be willing to be the first 90 monk and to raid asap with their guild is noble, it still seems like taking shortcuts and/or being lazy.

I've been playing this game for years. I don't need my hand to be held for 2 days of playing time giving me an ability every couple of levels. I'm more than capable of reading what stuff does and then using it when and where appropriate. I probably couldn't theorycraft the perfect windwalker dps rotation/priority system using just tooltips alone, but I'm only dpsing while solo. I mainly heal in groups. Anyone willing to RAF their Monk is probably the same way.

You can "gift" the codes once you bought them.

I bought the Battle Chest, it was put straight onto my Battle.net account already activated with a free month, there was nothing between me buying the game and it appearing on my Battle.net account since you have to log in to buy it. That's £8 wasted!

Where can you choose to gift it?

  16. #16
I had the option to gift it right after the confirmation screen (just after buying), you can choose to gift it, or activate it.

EU or US? Doesn't matter though, I've took the risk now and activated the £24 deal all the way up on my RAF account. If the Monk can't be leveled with RAF and/or level grants - I'm not going to cry over £24.

If they are able to be leveled with RAF and/or level grants, fair enough - I'll have my 80 Monk.

If they're able to be leveled with RAF and/or level grants but MoP is released after 6th October, then I'll probably just buy yet another set of games.

I'm just going to assume it will come before 6th October though.

EU, but I have to admit that the "gift" part is easily overlooked.

I'm an idiot and forgot you could hold onto the codes and not activate until later. So, I RAF'd and spent $20 hoping that the release will occur within 90 days (figuring it will cost me an extra $30 in game time as well). Poor planning on my part but what can you do?

I really hope that they allow granting. That would be a huge deterrant if they didn't for a lot of people leveling monks. I hear people swear that they allowed it with DKs, I hear people swear that they did NOT allow it with DKs so I can't confirm either. Blizzard stands to make a lot of extra money if they allow RAF and level grants, while keeping realm firsts for only monks who didn't use RAF benefits. That would be a win-win in my opinion.
