In need of a new motherboard, cpu and ram

So, recently my motherboard decided to stop working and now I'm in a need of new motherboard and I'm looking to upgrade my cpu and ram also.

    For reference, my current specs:

    Motherboard: Asus m4n78 pro
Cpu: Amd phenom 8750 x3 Black Edition
    Gpu: Ati Radeon 4850
    Ram: 4gb ddr2
Hard drives: 320gb samsung & 1tb western digital
    Psu: Antec EarthWatts 500w

I pretty much only play Wow and Call of Duty 4, so the new cpu does not need to be amazing performance wise.
So, I'm open for suggestions regarding new motherboard, cpu and ram. My budget is around 250€.

For around 250€ i think your best choice would be something like:

    Intel based:
    i3-2120
    Asrock B75 pro3
    2x4GB 1600MHz ram

    AMD based:
    FX-4100
    Asrock 970 pro3
    2x4GB 1600MHz ram

in germany the price for both would be about 220€, so in finland it should be around 250€ i think.
In single-thread performance (=games) the intel system will be a bit better, in multi-thread performance (=encoding & stuff) they are about the same.
Why do something simple, when there is a complicated way?
    Ryzen 7 2700X | BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 | 16GB DDR4-3200 | MSI X470 Gaming Pro | MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G | 500GB / 750GB Crucial SSD
Fractal Define C | LG 32UK550 | Das Model S Professional Silent | CM Storm Xornet

    something like this perhaps?

Asus P8H61-M PRO or Asus P8H77-M LE
    Kingston HyperX blu 8GB (2x4)
    Intel Core i3 2120 3.3 GHz

    Total: ~€260

You could save some by "only" getting 4GB RAM, if you go with the i3-2120 then just opt for 1333MHz RAM (assuming it's cheaper).

You can get a cheaper motherboard if you don't intend on using an SSD in the future. I mean you can still use an SSD but you'll be limited by the speed of the connections, the Pro comes with SATA III (6GB/s).

Also check the available stock, perhaps you have other sites you can use if the delivery is going to take too long.

Never order from verkkokauppa.com in Finland. Its got the lowest reputation here, with warranty & shipping. They lately bought a popular forum to lock a topic that evaluated them @ murobbs.plaza.fi ^^

    Here's from Jimm's PC

    Intel H61 - http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/H61M-P22-B3
    8 Gb DDR3 @ 1600 MHz 1.5v - http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
    Intel i3-2120 (~6% more performance than i3-2100, your choice) - http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/BX80623I32120

Jimm's also delivers for free to your closest Posti / Matkahuolto.

I used the site I did because it was in this list, I don't know anything about them and as mentioned it was more meant as a guide line.

Using this Jimms site, I'd go with the following:

    Asus P8H61-M PRO B3 or MSI B75MA-P45
    Intel Core i3 2120
    G.Skill 8GB (2x4GB) Sniper or G.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) Kit Ripjaws

4GB if you really need to save the extra money is fine. again both motherboards comes with SATA III in case you add an SSD later on. 1333MHz is all you need with an i3-21xx CPU.

No USB 3.0 (might not matter to you), no SATA III (matters if you ever get an SSD), cheap quality motherboard but if you need to save the save it'll work.

The RAM cost more (even if it's only a little) with no performance increase.

CPU is the same, good choice.

That said what you're getting will work together, good luck.
