I'm not talking about anecdotes, I'm talking about traits within the entire species. Sure, there are plenty of cats that act like dogs, but on the whole cats tend to be animals which prefer everything take place on their terms and they generally aren't shy about biting or clawing if they're pissed off. I've known plenty of cats that were as kind as could be and would even come up to you if you whistled for them, like a damn dog, but if you did a single thing they didn't like, you're likely to get bit.
Dogs can be that way, too, of course, but dogs are also much easier to train out of negative behaviors like that.
