    Second Repeat Profession

Aside from Alchemy, is there a profession that is worth levelling twice? By that, I mean, does it give you any addition benefits? For example, with Alchemy, you can pick up each of the three different specialisations, and can also use or sell the daily transmute cooldown.

Do any other professions have this kind of bonus for repeat levelling? There is no other ones that I can think of (aside from say, Tailoring, but you can't share the Dreamcloth or equivalent between Tailors). Also, will any of this change in Mists? Such as a new skill that makes one of the existing professions worth levelling multiple times.

Alch for xmute or other specialization, jc for more tokens and more patterns amongst your toons, tailoring for cloth cd. Not sure I read it correctly or not, but I think there might be a cd on the new darkmoon card craft for inscription.

Scribes are the best choices going into MoP, tailors for extra cloth CDs are also a good choice but generally more hassle to level and lower profit margins than scribes.

Each scribe can make 1 DMC a day in mists (you need an item you get from a daily quest to craft the card), so more scribes = more cards (or more staves/offhands/whatever as they all require that item from the daily), which will be pretty sweet early on in the xpac. Tailoring works as it always does afaik, but it's always hellishly expensive to level even once.

JC would be, IMO, for the sole purpose of having an extra toon that can do the dailies...it may not be all that much income late in the expansion, but Chimera eyes for example went for thousands of gold in the first few weeks of Cata. I already have a second JC at max for this sole purpose (plus it's not a bad prof to have) and am thinking about doing a third. It's going to be my top money-maker by far, I think. It depends on how my server rebounds with the new expansion and the like, but I wouldn't be surprised if I make several hundred thousand gold through doing them over time.

I've got two JC's and as Pbitt says you can sell the chimera's eye for quite a lot early on, or get a wider range of patterns so you can make more gems to sell.

Anything with a cooldown and multiple alchemists will always be good - although I have 3 alchemists at the moment, one of each spec, I'll probably change them all to transmute for the beginning of MoP to take advantage of transmute cooldowns. I was making an absolute killing on truegold at one point in cata by having 3 - and you can always switch their specialisations around.

Engineering I believe that there are two different pets you could make in Cata based on specialisation, but as it's quite expensive to level Im not 100% sure how profitable that is... but it's also not a bad pve prof so might be worth it if the other perks are good for that class too.

Thanks all for the responses. I guess I'll level a second JC'er, and perhaps a Scribe if cards have a CD in Mists. Engineering was painful enough once, not sure a second time will be worth it.

I'm leveling Inscription on my Monk for the weapon, but it will be nice to have a second scribe to make cards with. Barring really bad luck with which cards you get, and if one or two of the trinkets are actually really bad, you could probably make more money with a second Scribe than a second JC.

Probably like others have said, Scribe/Alchemist/JC are the top contenders for a secondary character. Everyone needs gems and the Darkmoon cards are probably gonna be even more expensive given you can only make 1 per day.
