So there was this sci-fi sidescroller I remember playing on a store, some handheld device. Unfortunately the only thing I remember is gameplay, so it's very difficult to remember details. For one, I know that once you achieve enough speed on your cyborg-hero-thingie, you can perform rolling dash trough walls. Some led to secret rooms. Graphics reminded of this style: , but you'd always be in some station-zone'ish areas. Thats all I can remember for now, hope some of you can drop more clues.
EDIT: another simmilar picture (the one I'm searching for has better graphics tho)
Check out the other 2D Metroid games while you're at it. Zero Mission (GBA) is a retelling of the first Metroid game, so unless you're a really nostalgic gamer you don't have to go play it on NES and Super Metroid (SNES) is a classic for a reason. Both can be found for emulators without much trouble (all legal notices apply, yadda yadda).
Looking at the Metroid wiki page, it really is sad that Nintendo has spent so much time and money developing FPS/Next-Gen Metroids when these games get fair to good reception, while the classic Metroid style games are the bee's knees.
