Wait, wait wait wait wait...
wait.
You've known me how long and you're JUST NOW asking this? >.>
It's what Deca said. In the TV show Firefly they used a lot of made up words to replace swears so that they didn't have to censor anything and could still keep that "badass don't give a shit" feeling in the way they talk (at least, that's my take on why they did it.) He also used other languages (Chinese being the main one.)
The 2 I use frequently are Gorram/Gorramit which means Goddamn/Goddamnit/God damn/ god damn it. The other one is Ruttin, which means fuckin. (as in this ruttin thing = this fucking thing. Not the inoutinout kind.)
[e]: An example from the show of ruttin: (also one of my favourite scenes.)
I actually never heard of gorram or what it could mean, but I assumed it was something like, "god damn it".

GOAL!
I usually don't replace them irl unless I'm with people I know would get the reference. I have no qualms swearing irl. I just don't do it in front of kids. Not really because I care about the kids swearing, but because it's the parents' choice if they want kids to hear it or not. Then again, I believe swearing means nothing. It's the intent behind it that matters. I very rarely will swear at someone (like fuck you, etc.) but I'll swear just in general (fuck me, fuck it, fuuuuuuck, etc.)
Also, now I'm watching Firefly clips again.
Easily my favourite intro theme for any show I can think of (Adventure Time is a close second I think.)
And anyone who didn't know what gorramit was. For shame. We are no longer on speaking terms until you go watch Firefly and Serenity.
I nearly got expelled for flipping someone off once, the only thing that saved me was my perfect attendance record (no tardies, no sluffs, no unexcused absences). Trust me, when you live in Utah, you have to REALLY watch what you say, especially "hell" and "goddamn." I don't care at all about swearing, but I do watch my language when I know that everyone around me will take offense. Plus, people are very shocked when they see someone as small as I am and as innocent looking as I am, swear.
Also, best theme song ever.![]()
