This is actually being done by the people who made Transformers: War for Cybertron and they totally nailed the 80's goodness of transformers while keeping it exiting and modern. The combat system was slightly off (Running out of ammo sucked donkey balls) but I am sure that the sequel will fix any quirks the original had. Transformers:Fall of Cybertron is about to hit store shelves.
If I had to weigh that knowledge with the trailer I would say this game has a better chance of being good than bad.

That's what I was thinking as well, but I'd like to see some more actual gameplay before I make any kind of judgment. Fingers crossed though. I'd really love this to be good. Doubt it would be anywhere near as good as say, the Batman games (different studio entirely, I know, but they're the only superhero games I've played), but I can hope.
