a HUGE blow to assad's regime,for those who knows how the syrian baath works,Shawkat is the real leader of syria and bashar is simply a puppet. Shawkat is so protective and secretive that he doesnt have a recent photo, last picture that was taken of him was in 2001.

also the Interior Minister has been confirmed dead in surgery.

im surprised this thread hasn't seen more action already. maybe people are like me allowing this news to digest, and waiting for more info on whether or not this is going to be a major turning point or just another incident. i'd like to believe this is a major event that brings this mess to a happy ending, but the world so frequently disappoints
