Six. It added a lot of great new features like transmog, void storage, LFR, guild leveling system, etc.

I thought the old world revamp was amazing.

The goblin and worgen starting zones were great.

But most end game content felt either bland or overly briefly, which is really the thing that impacts my gametime the most.

    PvP
New BGs: 7/10 - I like the designs, however, a bigger BG then 10man would have been nice.
Class Balance: 3/10 - Awful, just bloody awful in every way. More unbalanced then ever before.
Healer Power: 1/10 - Healers are so unbelievably overpower this expansion, it RUINS entire PvP.
    PvP total: 3/10 - A disappointment.

    PvE Content
New Raids: T11 8/10, T12 5/10, T13 5/10 - A good start, that went worse and worse. Bosses were not as original as I hoped for and WAY TO FEW!
New Instances: 6/10 - The new ones were awesome but ALL the revamps SUCKED, including DM, SFK, ZG and ZA. Hour of Twilight ones were really bad too.
PvE Balance: 6/10 - Decent in the start, but just awful in the end, class stacking is Really Bad!
LFR: 1/10 - This was one of the worst additions any game has ever done. It's to easy to gear up now, if this continues, if epics are not truly epic, this game WILL die.
    PvE total: 6/10 - Decent.

    Other Content
Achievements/Quests etc: 5/10 - NOT much to do outside PvE and PvP, to few daily quest areas, to few achievements to do etc.
Revamps: 1/10 - This is the worst thing WoW has ever done, DON'T mess with or remove old stuff. I loved the old Zones with non-linear quest lines.
New Zones: 9/10 - The NEW zones are just stunning, amazingly done, especially Vasj'ir, Uldum and Deepholm.

    Cataclysm total grade

    4/10

    NOT satisfied.
Pretty much sums up most of my thoughts, would have gave DS 1/10 and the new zones 6/10 - deepholm and hyjal were good the rest i find pretty shit.
    3.5/10

I agree with this. My gut says 4, but i would like to say slightly higher, there HAD to be a reason I played for so long, and even signed up for the AP right? right?! lol

    At most a 6.

Raid finder is incredibly dull and killed the excitement of raiding with your guild and seeing the bosses a bit.

Start of the expansion was good - Firelands was fun for a bit. It drooped in areas with ZG/ZA farming for VP and DS..

Compared to the other expansions, I rated Cata as a 5. The 1-60 leveling became too quick and boring. Transmog was nice but I felt it was just to cover up the fact that everyone in the game has exactly the same looking gear. DS was a huge disappointment due to boring boss fights and a story I didn't understand. LFR just added on to the problems caused by LFD. The raids before DS were interesting and the original heroics in proper gear were appropriately challenging. I feel the expansion started strong but just stopped trying after Firelands.

Compared to other games, its still the best MMO out there, but it could have been so much better.

Giving it 3 for first tier of expansion (t11) firelands except ragnaros were very bad and dragon soul is just shit and its 8 months of it already while blizzard promised us faster patches

    3 from me.
Entirely because I'm an old player who has played since Classic WoW. I have many things to say why it's so low rated for me
    1. Definitely first is, if you died in an encounter your raid team would fail (I'm talking about heroic raids (with some exceptions of course and the added debuff %))
    2. I'm fed up with the grind for things I wouldn't need ever (mounts/pets/achievements/titles) It was fun when they released it. It isn't now. Yes I've grinded crappy achievs in cata, but to be fair after I did so many achievements in WoTLK (doing achievements with friends was great fun because it was new and it added a little bit of competition spirit to it), I got bored of Cata achievs, but still tried to do them with friends - it's simply too much to grind. It's all the same.
    3. I miss the old world. I loved the atmosphere of WoW. I leveled alts just to experience the low level zones, but now it's so - I can't even find the words for it - mainstream maybe.

And recently I started picking up old stuff farming - AQ, BT, old reps, because they have a nostalgic feeling for me. Instead of that retarded Firelands grind to get the marks to unlock new quests. (first that comes to my mind.)

I gave it a 3. LFR just makes me want to stab people, I like the concept just can't stand stupid. t11 was decent but it didn't draw me in like other raid teirs. Vashj ir was the only inspired zone in the expansion. Fl was worse then t11 aside from heroic rag and ds was boring after the first night. The 1-60 revamp was decent but I don't really level toons, kinda like that I'll see it in mop when I level my monk.

I gave it an 8. You have to look at everything overall. The oldworld revamp was awsome, and created some of the best zones to level through now. Transmog is one of the greatest additions to the game, giving reason to remember old times and farm that content. LOL@NOOBS aside, LFR is great, and really opened up "raiding" for a whole bunch on non-raiders. Worgen and Goblins are great additions to races. Garrosh story was good, I love a controversial character.

I'll agree that DS wasn't as great as it could have been, and ending on a less than high note was not the greatest. This poll also comes at a time where there is nothing left to do, unless you're in beta, which is why numbers are lower. This poll at a week or two after the last patch launched, you'd see higher numbers. Try to remember the good stuff, not the current slump.

i gave it a four.i could careless about the PVE stuff, just the PVP.The PVP in cata is bad, really bad.i do like RBGS's,but if you do not play a caster,i guess you cant run with good teams.i have also have seen less "pvp adjustments" in cata then ever before.atleast in wrath, blizz did hot fixes and patches and adjusted pvp much much more then they do now.i just cant figure out why blizz lets some classes run wild for so long.yes im looking at you rogues, mages, shammys, ect.

That's the fault of the players, not of LFR or Blizz. If it makes you hate humanity, don't do it.

Had to give it a 7, just because of dragon soul and almost everything in firelands (except raggy hc).. ruined the Addon quite a bit..
    T11 Content and the whole level experiences (1 - 58, 80 - 85) was good imo.

  15. #355
gave it a 7 .... it was the expansion that made me quit the game for a while... the first patch was good, what sucked was the fact that they didnt add any raid in 4.1(prolly the canceled neptulon storyline ending raid)and the actual expansion endind was pretty bad...story-wise deathwings ending was ok,but pve wise the encounter sucked badly compared to other last expansion bosses or even other trivial bosses ... looking forward to start playing again in "Mists of Pandaria" , it looks pretty cool

Gave a 7. PvE seemed a little bland.

  17. #357
It started off pretty well with 5 men being atleast somewhat of a challenge, 3 raids to choose from with interesting new boss mechanics and even a nice hardmode only boss. Firelands was okay-ish, tuning of bosses was a bit weird (some too easy, some too hard). Then came Dragonsoul with boring bosses, including the most boring/worst endboss of all time. Add to that LFR which has nothing to do with introducing people to raiding and is only about teaching people that afking during bosses, ninja looting and being a prick is fine and gets you full T13 in no-time.

Transmogging was a nice feature, so I could dress my chars back to when I enjoyed the game the most: during T5/T6. Apart from that, the changes to healers failed imo. At the start of Cataclysm it made for big imbalances between classes and from Firelands on, for some healer classes, mana meant just as little as during WotLK (doing heroic Firelands as a restodruid with 900 spirit ftw....).

All in all T10 was good, but from there it went downhill. Can't rate it much more then a 4/10.

  18. #358
    4. The first tier was decent. Other features like the world revamp and the new zones were less than impressive to me.

Exactly my thoughts. Not horrible like TBC, but it lacked the compelling story of WotLK.

  20. #360
I gave it a 6, mostly acuse this was my first ever real expansion (started in late Wotlk).

T11 - Was a great and fun tier, I enjoyed every fight, both on normal and heroic. There was so much to do the first tier that I was rarely bored. Everything from completing the new zones to leveling my professions to get exalted with all factions.

T12 - Fights were alright up to Ragnaros, brilliant fight, easily the one fight I will remember. Molten front was fairly meh, nothing rewarding if you had raided the T11 heroic tier. Only did it for the mount.

T13 - Nothing to say, DS aint as bad as people make it sound but it was still the weakest tier this expansion in my oppinion. I screamed when I killed Sinestra with my guild who were struggling with it. I let out a *sigh, finally* when I killed Deathwing. Nothing compared to memorable moments as when I first killed the Lich King and the pain Ragnaros offered. No new factions here so was really nothing new except DS.

Now if I would take and rate raiding, I'd give it a 7 perhaps 8, only enjoyed about ½ the raids that were released this expansion. Reason I gave it a 6 is simple - I almost bring nothing with me to MoP. To this day when I see someone riding Mimirons head or Invincible, or having a title as The magic seeker, Death's Demise, Immortal, things you had to work for THAT expansion to recieve, is non-existent in cataclysm. Am I gonna ride my Firehawk? Not really, I can't cause the new zones don't allow that. Deathwing mount? No thank you, I've had enough of the reskinned drakes. Titles? Sure I guess, but they are not titles you cannot achieve in the next expansion, just like the Light of Dawn is for example. Everything I accomplished in Cata will be nothing more then a 10point achievment. In MoP, I will probably still look back to Wrath and hope I raided or played back then, cause there was so much to do, and so much to bring with you from there.
    Infracted.
