No. Thunderfury, Sulfuras, Warglaives, and Thoridal were all based off random drop chance, and could be farmed for a year or more with no drop, where now they are guaranteed after a set amount of time.

The old way there was no guarantee which makes the time you played less rewarding.

Since when? I've got guildies who have been religiously farming those since Wrath without a single drop yet.

I wonder if they can do something like put HM after the title the person gets who does not use the raid debuff to distinguish them from those of us in casual raiding guilds who take longer and use the debuff to do the same content.

For clarification I meant that the new legendaries are guaranteed, the old ones I mentioned are still drops. I was commenting on the statement that the new ones are just as hard to get as the old ones, which is false. Now you know after a set amount of time you will get one, whereas before regardless of skill or amount of clears, there was no guarantee. And with the progressive nerfs, it is far easier for many more players to get one. Heck, you don't even need to be able to kill a single boss on heroic for either the staff or daggers, it may speed up the process, but its not required.

They could always make an item they sell on the blizzard store that costs 10,000$ that is a legendary. Most people wouldn't have that right?

Anyone else tired of these jackholes that keep arguing about this whole "WAAHHH CASUALS WILL SEE THE CONTENT I SEE 10 MONTHS BEFORE THEM!!!!111" shit? Blizzard has a better pulse on what the community (except in a few minor places) on what they want for raiding. The last time they listened to these minority morons, Cataclysm happened and we know the result of that. Of course, they pick only a few words from the blue response and put it to the extreme of what THEY want to listen to.

Definitely. Just add a CD to it to prevent crazy server hopping, and it'd be dandy. Right now, I just have so much time and energy invested on my 85s' realm (see sig below) that I don't really feel like even starting over on another realm. The whole process is automatic anyway, so why can't Blizzard get with the times? Wouldn't seem to be that big a loss of money if they removed the cost -- it'd be such a quality of life improvement that perhaps it would even provide a little boost to subscriptions numbers.

    Ioreth - Ret/Prot, Vexbolt - Demon
    Yin - WW

I too prefer to let Blizzard do shit and not worry so much.

    Re: Ganking in PvP
Basically, I always play on PvP servers. And I never feel confident enough to go out on my 85 and do world PvP or gank. But I have been ganked on lowbies many times, and I love it. It's part of the PvP server experience. It pisses you off, develops a true hatred for the other faction. It makes you want to go mercilessly into bgs and exact revenge. Getting ganked so hard you had to switch characters is what makes it awesome - it has a real-life impact and makes you emotional. People who want their PvP wrapped up neatly and fairly say they want world PvP, but it sounds like what they truly want is bgs, which are basically world PvP but with rules and level limitations for fairness.

    Re: Raid Nerfing
I understand hardcore players' argument that having an achievement dated before nerf isn't enough: they want casuals to see how much better they are just by glancing at them, without having to link their achievement in Trade (which is likely to get 1-upped in front of everyone by an equally elitist player). So fine, have the un-nerfed Heroic end boss reward everyone in the raid with a special title or visual effect item. There is a title-granting achievement in Ulduar that requires players to wear gear below a certain ilvl, so this idea of cosmetic reward for an un-nerfed boss kill has been used before. I feel that such a reward would solve the issue by giving something entirely unique and entirely cosmetic to the hardcore raiders. Right now, the nerfed version gives the same title and the same gear ans the un-nerfed version. Casuals getting the same gear after nerfs shouldn't be a big deal to hardcores as long as they still have something cosmetic for their egos.

Wearing "Azerothian Apparel shirt" costs 1% Self-Esteem. 1.1-(1.1*0.1)=0.99

About as out of place as the Tauran.

Once they get decked up head to toe in armour, they will look like any other member of the Horde.

I think the reason he sounds different is because he is doing it with a slight (stereotypical) Asian accent.

From what I remember the guy who did the old narrations died.

This new narration fits the Pandaren, as I believe its Lorewalker Cho who is narrating it.

By that factor alone they weren't actually "hard" to get. I could freight train my way through stratholme a thousand times at level 85 and never get the barons mount, does that mean it's more "difficult" to obtain than say, the dragon soul meta mount? Not really.

Random drops don't ensure that "deserving" players (which the people that want the old method of obtaining legendaries likely think they fall squarely into the category of) get the legendaries. The world-first guild to clear the raid might never, EVER see them drop, while the casual guild with two pugged people from trade comes in three months later and gets them on their first go. I'm not saying this is good or bad, but it is the reality of the situation. These kind of legendaries don't reflect legendary skill, they reflect legendary luck.
