    Improving FPS..

    Hi guys,
I am wondering how I can improve my FPS in WoW. My current computer specs are :

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
    Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    Other OS Description Not Available
    OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
    System Name JORDAN-PC
    System Manufacturer Dell Inc.
    System Model Studio XPS 7100
    System Type x64-based PC
    Processor AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T Processor, 2800 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 6 Logical Processor(s)
    BIOS Version/Date Dell Inc. A06, 9/10/2010
    SMBIOS Version 2.6
    Windows Directory C:\Windows
    System Directory C:\Windows\system32
    Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume2
    Locale United States
    Time Zone Eastern Daylight Time
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB
    Total Physical Memory 6.00 GB
    Available Physical Memory 3.34 GB
    Total Virtual Memory 12.0 GB
    Available Virtual Memory 7.44 GB
    Page File Space 6.00 GB
    Page File C:\pagefile.sys

    Graphics card :
    Name AMD Radeon HD 6450

What would be the most useful upgrade I could use to improve my fps?
At the moment I get around 20-30 in Stormwind on lower graphics, with the occasional spike to 60..

I'm assuming that my graphics card could use the upgrade the most, however I have no idea on what is a good one to get..

If any more information is needed, please ask..
    Thanks!

I'd say your GPU is in need of an upgrade I'm pretty sure the 6450 is like a 50$ card. CPU is still pretty solid, but without knowing how much you're willing to spend on upgrades it's hard to advise you in which direction you should go.

The video card is by far the weakest component. We need to know the power supply to be able to tell you a possible upgrade.

Hi.. According to the website it says.. Power : 460 watts

As for spending limit.. nothing too expensive, maybe $200 or less

Also, something that can handle 2 monitors.. not running a game on both, but having WoW in fullscreen windowed on one, and internet on other

    Thanks for the response

R.6850 or N.560 + at least 500W Power Supply of good quality.

hmmm anadtech reviewed it with a 5870 in there and the same 460w psu.... whats the model details for the psu? have a feeling its a seasonic one rebranded.

    edit:

ok its not a seasonic BUT is it rated pretty much the same as comparable antec model (33a on 12v rail . 385 12v continuous power)

get a 5870 or 6870 and you`ll be laughing without changing psu

I will be able to use one of those cards even though they both require 500 watt?

If some day I ever wanted to replace my power supply, is that an easy task?

well Dell sold the pc with a 5870 with the same psu...

and yes , unbolt the 4 screws from teh rear ; after unplugging the power connectors on the inside

So.. is this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102948 good? (Just making sure, I don't normally do these kind of things.. lol)

for the money - yes it is heck of a boost from what you have - under load the 6870 will pull about 90w more than what you have (120 vs 30) - but the 5870 pulled 140w so even more.

if your concenrned give dell a ring?

I was just reading the reviews of that card on Amazon and someone said that their 460 power supply is plenty for the card.. So I'm sure it will work fine.
    Thanks for the help!
Also, 6gb of ram is good enough, right?

6 will be fine - i have about 300mb of totally FREE ram (thats ram not classed as `available , or `cached` so thus doing nothing at all when gaming and thats with 8gb, 6gb will be plenty
