Worth buying this laptop over my PC?

    Okey, here's the deal.

    What I currently got is:
    7970
    i7 2700k with noctua cooler
    8g ram
    1 ssd 128gb
    1 hdd 2tb
    1 hdd 1tb
    1 24" 1920x1080 benq screen

What I am looking at is this deal http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=757368#info

Price divided by 6 = dollar price. Now I wanted to sell my pc for around 12-14k norwegian crowns including everything screen etc. Then adding around 7-8k crowns by myself, now that's the deal for me. But would this be wise? Is this laptop powerful enough to handle the current games at good fps?

Looking at the specs im assuming you're using it for games, no? If so then no, as good as that laptop looks your desktop will still kill it when it comes to games.

Hm, thought something like that. Really hate it :/ But I guess when we look at the difference of a laptop gpu chip and look at the desktop it makes sense :P thanks

Yeah, you have a point there. That's why I intentionally bought only 8 gb instead of 16 and one more spot for a 7970 and if needed I have a cooler

Haha indeed, think of a laptop, click and go while I have to set up my whole desktop, find some comfortable position etc, then pack it bag while with a laptop it would go in 1 2 3.. x)

Yeah, its quite annoying, I think the only solution here is to maybe get the laptop for lans and do your home-gaming on the desktop :P

Will really have to see if I can buy this in the states and then have some family member bring it to me on a vacation, would've saved alot as I found alienware that had 2-3 notch better cpu (clocked at almost 4 ghz on a laptop.. i was shocked!) for the price of 2300 bucks while it in norway costed me 7800 dollars..

Wow that's insane, but with alienware you have to be careful, did you manage to see what kind of graphics card it has? because cpu wont do much for games beyond wow and other mmo's.

Well look at the bright side, once you exclude gaming any piece of shit laptop is capable of doing everything else you could possibly need.
Then again so can most smartphones which leads me to believe owning a laptop/netbook is now pointless for anything other than word processing on the go.

Oh yeah, I pickd the gtx 680 of course. Pickd 24 gb ram and a 250gb ssd to it. everything seemed to be flawless, even the price looked like a joke, but as soon as I saw the norwegian price ... yeah xD
