someone else said something similar the other day here. i got turned off by X1 and X2, so unnecessarily tedious to control and just not user friendly game. i want a good space trading game since i haven't played a good one since Freelancer but real skeptical with the X series, even if a few people are touting X3. i guess i'll wait for it to come on sale on Steam and try it then where if i don't like it i won't get pissed.

ok thanks. should i buy Albion Prelude AND Terran Conflict? if you were to pick between one to try out first which would it be?

and also is this game joystick recommended?

Albion Prelude requires Terran Conflict. So if you're not sure if you're gonna like the game, get TC first. You can always buy AP before the sale ends if you're into this sort of game.

And the game is playable with gamepad/joystick, but keyboard and mouse are both just fine.

Some day, I'm going to sit down and learn how to play this darn game

I did find a decent video tutorial for it, it's just a matter of finding time now.

Yeah, it's not something you're gonna learn during your lunch break.

This is a great single player game, id equate it to a single player version of eve. Many hours were spent here while in the army

yes on steam sale prolly ending soon, but its well worth the money anyway

x:3 is far far evolved from x:1 and x:2 its a game that has used mods and integrated into the game

so its also highly hackable/scriptable and moddable

terran conflict is the way to go to start off...

music and your computer talking to you is also great

heres an example: you get remote buy and sell and stuff for your ships... you then can remotely send ships to pickup and dropoff the different goods that the space stations need, thereby getting them to manufacture the things that they do and then you can "fill" the other stations that need stuff... they then come out with a product that you can use or is worth alot in a nearby system or is even usable by yourself... such as space probes that keep sectors viewable...
There is also space missions fighting and escorts that will take you through the giant universe with many stations other jumpgates..
Ive also heard of boarding and taking over ships with crew and such

I have yet to find a game as good as this as space sims go.. this game is in the essence of freelancer
every space game I play now I compare to this great game
