    Your PSU can run any current CPU + GPU under the sun at full load, don't listen to anyone else claiming otherwise.

    7870 = 120w under max load. - AMD for whatever stupid reason doesn't list their TDP on the official product page. Googling the number though is rather easy.

    Don't waste your money. If you ran Prime 95 and Furmark at the same time (completely maxing both the 2500 and 7870) your PSU would only be pumping out 215w to both parts.

    That "Corsair 500W" is probably CX500, which in reality is 400W, but the 7870 consumes 120W so it's ok.
    I'm pretty sure that the 7870 uses less power than GTX460.

    Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 can consume up to 248-270 full load stock clock settings.
    The GTX 460 requires a +12 Volt continuous current rating of 24 Amps or greater.

    Sapphire HD 7870 can consume up to 246w full load stock clock settings.
    The HD 7870 requires a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 27 Amps or greater.

    The GTX460 can require a little more wattage then the HD 7870, but also require slightly less Apms from the +12v rail.
    I currently own both the GTX 460 and Corsair CX500 power supply with my processor overclocked to 4GHz.
    The Corsair CX500 has 34A on the single 12V rail.

    Not true, as it was explained above. These are probably full system consumption numbers.

    Correct, CX500.

    Anyway, it is nice to see that I am set.

    I will buy a better PSU in the future if I get a new pc.
