Having trouble choosing between two laptops...HELP please

Both are 3rd gen i7 processors.

The first is: 2.1GHz (turbo boost up to 3.1GHz), 8GB RAM, Radeon HD7730M, 1920x1080 display for $950

The second is: 2.3GHz (turbo boost up to 3.3GHz), 6GB RAM, Nvidia GT660M, 1366x768 display for $900

The second one has better specs obviously (CPU+GPU) but is the first one's display capabilities worth the $50 price difference? I'm definitely gonna choose between one of these since I have the ability to finance the laptop through Best Buy and they also fit my budget. Please help me pick one; I'm not sure which to go with.

    Thanks!

$50 for a boost like that in display? Shit yes it is worth it!!

Maybe you should link the actual machines you are thinking of buying though so people can give you a more informed opinion.

Hey, Axolus . I'd say you don't get either of those. Here is one from Newegg and one from Lenovo.

    $830.00: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834215410

    $1100.00: http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/c...4F5F5622D1AC7A

The second one has more GPU power (if you want to spend $1100), while a GT 650M for $830 is also insanely good. I gave you the second option because it depends if you want a GTX 660M with 8GB RAM and a 7200rpm hardrive + 1920x1080 resolution (Lenovo)... or a GT650M with 6GB RAM and a 5400rpm harddrive (1600x900 resolution).

I love both options, it just depends on how much you'd like to spend. Both are insanely good, just pick what you want to spend.

If you're wondering if the $300 bump up is worth it, I'd think so. You get a better GPU, higher resolution, more RAM, and a faster HDD.

Hi Klutz, thanks for the reply. While those options might be better, I'm restricting myself to laptops from Best Buy due to the fact that I can finance one from there for 18 months. If I buy from Newegg or somewhere else, I'll have pay out of pocket and that's not an option for me right now. The two I've listed seem to be the best bang for my buck from Best Buy's site. Let me know what you think of those. Thanks

Will the GTX 660M perform that much better than the 7730M in a game like WoW? This is the only MMORPG that I play so if upgrading to the 660M card won't make a drastic difference in gameplay then I may just opt for the more expensive and get the nicer display. If the 660M does make a vast difference, then I may get the laptop with a lesser display but better GPU. I'd like to play the game on high/ultra settings. Thank you all for your thoughts.

Newegg.com actually finances, too . It's called "Bill Me Later." There's a little interest if you don't pay it in full, but it works the same as Best Buy, I think. However, if you still want to go with Best Buy, why not this? It's refurbished. . . but it's so good.

    i7 @ 2GHz
    17.3" Screen
    8GB RAM
    1 TB HDD
GTX 560M (really good, 26% better than the 7730m)

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+1...&skuId=5863068

Also, with the 660m, it wouldn't even matter because it's being used on a 1366x768 screen.

And Asus laptops are known to be heavy, but that's fine. And although the resolution isnt stated here, I'm sure it's 1920x1080 since it's a 17.3".

Lastly, if you think you'll go with Newegg and dont want to spend over $1000, go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834215410
