Keep the announcements out which you yanked. I know I use RSA across all my toons for all announces, and on my hunter (before I disabled all of Serenity's announces) it would announce shit twice. RSA is a mod specifically just to announce things, and if people want announces, they'll have that addon for it. I also have Clique to right click MD, and other mouseover binds for friendly targets like Master's Call and Roar of Sacrifice and Intervene. That's mainly because I use Grid+Clique for healer alts though, a hunter who solely plays hunter might find that utility helpful.

I agree that the BM 15% chance at focus really needs nothing. As long as the "live" bar can detect and update the influx of focus, that's fine - that's currently how it works for TotH procs on live.

Internal CDs might be nice, if there are serious ones we need to consider. A LnL one, perhaps, I dunno. LnL has had a lot of QoL changes this past expansion, so I don't know that it's particularly necessary. Most of our ICDs are trinket procs otherwise, and I personally track them with TMW.

The +3 from SV SrS ticks is a bit tricky, because it can still tick from SrS on another target even if SrS falls off your current target. I don't see how that could feasibly happen to a progression raider, but it's just an outlying case. Maybe if you're switching targets a lot, you don't get SrS up immediately on the new target due to, idk, focus starvation, but the focus is still incoming because SrS is still up on a previous target.

great stuff, love the addon and will be great to keep using it

Can we get have the option to set the "focus cost of shot" marker ourselves? as well as incoming focus projection? I know I got used to the Focus thing but it was a nightmare when I first got my 2 set.

    >Internal cooldowns, no plan to add them as they are in Serenity, do raiders want this, if so POST ABOUT IT, please. If it's argued well enough I'll code them somehow either now or later.

As long as we can add and tracks cooldowns like Tier procs( I'm thinking the 4pcs here), S.springs, etc, I don't need to know when LnL is up.

    >Profiles: removing them, do you actually need them??? This I need to be convinced about, so argue away.

I do use the profiles - but mostly because it takes so long to go through all the options and I have a few hunters that I want to keep consistant. If the options are streamlined to a point that setup is a breeze then profiles become obsolete, otherwise please reconsider removing them.

I kinda liked it just for that extra confirmation sending a whisper to the tank to let them know. Mostly to know when it ends so that I shouldn't start bursting right then. If you could make it optional like it is right now that would be coolbeans. But it's not wildly important. I just want the bar.

SUPER glad you are updating for MoP. I was getting a little scared that I was going to have to find something else. Mucho appreciated! <3
The MD addon is done and on curse. There's a link in this thread. Chat notification is disabled, but you can open config.lua and change "false" to "true" in 3 spots (read the comments) and it'll act exactly the same as Serenity does. Use Notepad+ to edit it (free editor, just use google).

Yep, you seem to see things the way I need, and I did not think of off-target SrS. I may just check current target but with my slight OCD I'll probably track targets with SrS and keep track of them to properly account, even for off-target. Just a bunch of extra coding and research, but I can do that. Thanks for pointing out the caveat of it for the addon.

The Internal Cooldowns were coded into Serenity after I stopped playing, trying to get a response from the author to properly credit him but getting no response. His code was solid so I plan to keep the mechanic, with some slight changes.

    Not understanding this, sorry.

If you mean the focus prediction bar, it will work properly with the set bonus when I release the update.

Both will remain in, changed my mind about removing them. Actually I've finished those sections already and they are good to go.

    OK NEED HELP!

When Aspect of the Fox is active and you have points (assume 3) in One with Nature, it generates an additional 3 focus. What I'm not clear on is the 3 focus - is that added to CS/SS (9 + 3 + t13 set bonus) or is it passive?

    One With Nature says:
Increases the attack power bonus of your Aspect of the Hawk by 30%, and increases the amount of Focus restored by your Aspect of the Fox by 3.

EDIT1: I presume this means additional 3 when struck by a melee hit?
EDIT2: Confirmed. Why someone coded this in is beyond me, but it's removed now.

    Thanks!

So, the energy bar is done, the indicators and the crowd control. All converted from Serenity to JSHB.

I did add prelim support for some MoP stuff, but need to get beta installed to test and finish that.

I added a tweak to the hunter's mark reminder too so that it will not bother you if your target is less than 2x your max health. What's the point?

Also added in a vehicle check to turn off Aspect Indicator display :-) Should I do this for Hunter's Mark too?

    ---------- Post added 2012-08-02 at 05:45 PM ----------

    JSHB is not complete!

When I add the options I'll post it. Right now you can not configure anything.

What I wound up doing was making changes to fix issues and remove some code that was just wrong.

The Internal Cooldown Module is still in.

I even left extra settings in for customization, but this is something that I will code much later. (Changing major colors to match other UI elements, etc.)

Now to get on to the options. This is really the part I am dreading. I'll get some major stuff done then post an Alpha.

I still need to add in MoP stuff, but that's actually going to be easier than I thought. If there were no API changes that effect Serenity then very very simple.

I used Serenity for the MD module, that's pretty much it.

I like the serenity stack reminder, and the aspect icon, other than that JSHB is fine the way it is

There were API changes, thats whay I needed to fix Serenity for MoP beta. You can compare fixed version I already linked http://rghost.ru/39410266 with Serenity 1.6b to see main changes in API. Maybe it will help in getting JSHB MoP ready faster, until you get to beta yourself.
And about your "One with Nature" question - you are right, this and Termination have no use in MoP, the only thing that changes focus prediction value is Steady Focus buff (adds 3 focus while active) - changes added in energybar.lua.

only thing about your addon i didnt like was the fact that when i tried to inspect someone i would cast MD on them lol, if its a mod to add on i will prob not download that part and stick to my personal MD macro. still using it myself on live and it works

Working on the config now. Should be done in 2-3 days and then add in the last bits for MoP.

As for the addon itself, it's basically done. Just can't change anything without the config or editing the the saved database (not recommended).

It's coming - config is just tedious, especially because I'm trying to simplify it.

  10. #50
OK, I do have a feedback question...

ALERTS. Do you use them? Is the configuration interface in Serenity OK, too complicated, what? I have these done, just wondering if I need to tweak anything...

I have almost everything (live) done as a JSHB recode now. I'm finishing up the timers in the next couple days (just the config, they actually work) and will have an alpha available for people to test (If interested, PM me and I'll send you a link when ready).

Wrap this up and then work on the MoP changes.... It's getting there, as promised.

Options are a lot simpler, so as not to confuse people.

CC duration, HM on target and current aspect are very useful.
But all those pve raid alerts ("BWD: Parasitic Infection" and others) are just duplicating bossmods (DBM, BigWigs) and built-in alerts module in general is not that useful, because most of us have Power Auras/Weak Auras/TellMeWhen to cover the needs of different indications in game.
That's just my opinion of course.
P.S. preset pve alerts were useful actually, just don't think that hunter's addon should be doing this, it's not a bossmod after all.

Why use powa when you have that alerts in JSHB ? Powa gives you alerts, JSHB gives you all you need + alerts, so no point to force ppl to use different addons for every other functionality. Imo alerts are very useful in JSHB.

Don't think I'm the only hunter having alts. I can't use JSHB alerts on all my chars, so I need to install PowA/TMW anyway. And when I have them installed and configured it's easier to copy configured alerts between chars using one specialized addon.

i loved jsb back in t11 for focus prediction, tranquable (de)buffs and boss hp display and am incredibly happy its back because i broke it on my pc. most of the other features are icing on the cake or pretty much useless to me since its not meant to replace a bossmod/powa/nsk with their ability to customize every little bit.
i bolded "to me" since those features are obviously very useful for every alt hunter out there that doesnt want to dive that deep into ui customization if he doesnt need it on his main.

especially since the power auras import thread within the pve forum is just incredible.

It's a matter of choice. You can disable the entire alert module with the single check box too.

I use the simple alerts in JSHB and refuse to install Power Auras myself (power auras is tested and true, I just don't need the huge addon in my list). JSHB does what i need with about 500k memory, more with options loaded, byt that's why its Load on Demand.

Yes, and who says JSHB alerts can not import from a power auras link - you will see this soon. O.o

Well, I guess for the sake of sanity, things brought up here that people want are staying (MD is separate now). The only things I'm removing are the Icon Timers, chat messages and styling for all the frames.

Styling will be brought back after i finish the MoP updates though in another way. Not 100% sure of the best way yet, but not worried because I need the addon to go alpha to test ASAP.

My question was with the alerts, are they logical and understandable to configure (think those in Serenity). If not what needs to be changed? I'd like to incorporate this stuff now and not later.

    Thanks again.

PS. Anyone know Hugus, person who coded the ICD module originally, I would like to properly credit him.

Thanks osa, I'll check out what you did for MoP soon. Still working on the live wrap-up. Trying to decide on the best way to handle timers at the moment, so as to keep it simple while allowing advanced customization. I think I have it figured out, coding now to test... May end up rewriting this 3x lol

    ---------- Post added 2012-08-07 at 02:52 PM ----------

Seeing as MoP is right around the corner, thinking I should remove the default alerts for BOT/BWD/soon to be old content. I presume you all will agree, anyone against it and why?

Alerts is one of the easiest modules to understand and configure, doubt anyone had problems with configuration.

Why are you removing Timer Icons? IMHO some information looks better on Icons than on timeline (Timers module).

  17. #57
Low number of people use it from comments and feedback about it. I still have the code and may re-add it later, but I need to re-write a lot of it because it was broken in the latest Serenity.

    ---------- Post added 2012-08-07 at 09:14 PM ----------

Well, just finished the timers. I'm finishing up testing now.

I have some more options to add in (like change bar width, height, alert icon size, etc. - simple but tedious stuff).

After I test I'm going to add the last of the needed options and then hit the MoP stuff.

Timers should be a lot easier to configure and understand now in the interface options panel.

Again, PM me if you would like to do some testing or language translation.

Not sure when I'll be done with the extra options that i need to find homes for in the panels, probably tomorrow - unless I get restless tonight.

    ---------- Post added 2012-08-08 at 01:42 PM ----------

OK, I want to list some of the additions made to JSHB from Serenity:

    - Added health check for hunter's mark warning (if mob has less than 2x your max health, Hunter's Mark warning will not show).
    - Timers will now "add new" timers to the top of the list so they are easy to see.
    - Timers now have a smaller, easier to read list with expand buttons to see more options for each. Bar settings for the timer set are now on the same page as the timers list (with an expand button).
    - Colors / fonts / extra design settings are now on expanding frames when clicked to reveal them.
    - Pre-implemented some stuff for timer imports & alert imports / and sharing.
    - Fixed an issue with the stacks / energy bar.
    - Removed code that was added and did not properly work (One With Nature stuff to prediction - gone now)
    - There are now 3 bars available to you for timers. Durations / Cooldowns / Internal Cooldowns (Hugus' code). But can be used for whatever you need.
    - Fixed something in profiles that was messing up profiles.
    - ... more but I need to think better before I come back to this.

I'm finishing the style stuff in options and I'll have an Alpha to release. 3000 lines of code to go through and integrate still. Might be today, depends on how fast i work and how quickly I figure out where to put stuff in the options panes.

I really like how Serpent Sting and Black Arrow are represented along the focus bar. To me, it seems subtle, but easy to see when you want to see it.

This is something I *may* work on later. I have an idea for this, and think it may work well. But I need time to plan and implement it, so this would be done after-the-fact. It would be a replacement for the timer icons (which I removed) - but work much nicer and nothing else has what I am thinking of doing yet.

On the flip-side..... Expect an Alpha posted to Curse tonight... I'm finishing up 2 small sections and I want to re-do the alerts config, because I don't like it. I don't think it will take too long, as right now everything is working and tested by me in raids. Finally got my 2pc to test prediction too.

    ---------- Post added 2012-08-09 at 11:13 PM ----------

Well, it's done for live. Uploading to Curse now, once approved you can give it a test on live.

Let me know what you think, especially the options set.

Again, Misdirection is a separate addon.

  20. #60
OK, so I'm installing the new patch for beta / MoP to code the changes and test stuff...

    - Glyph for HM needs to be accounted for (turn off HM warn - basically)
    - 9 focus base from cs/ss increase, i need to research this more to find out details like does this apply when a levelling hunter gets CS/SS or does the increase from 9 focus happen at a certain level... (still waiting to play beta).
    - need more info of what I need to account for. Then I need to look at new talents and spec stuff to see if we need anything new or whatnot.
.. feel free to list what im missing..

Also, need a good place to fully read the changes what MoP will bring, the data is so scattered on sites still. Anyone have a great resource for this? I need a list of all changes for all classes. (Yes im being lazy too, need a break from 10+ days of coding)

Aside from that, I need to figure out what changes I need to make to JSHB as a default setup. 2.99 is up for actual use on curse now, so check it out and let me know what you thing. Functionality is the same, made a couple improvements to the addon and the new options for config should be more easy to use.

    Thanks all!
