Weather effects!?

Hello,

I didn't pay attention to this in the beta but I'm wondering appart from day/night are there weather effects in guild wars 2? Like rain/snow.

There are, I believe only in certain areas though.

I'm pretty sure I saw some weather changes in the latest beta.

There are weather effects but they don't affect the character in any way.

You know, it would be cool if they had weapons that changed based on weather, much like the ghastly weapons or Day/Night Legendary Sword.

I would love a weapon that slowed targets with cold damage during snow or one that did air lightning damage during rain.
That would be amazing.

im pretty sure i got drop down from a puzzle by the wind in metrica province.

That's more an environmental hazard than a weather effect, since it's specifically part of that puzzle.
