    Cookie Cutter Build

So I've been looking through the forums trying to find out about the new talent system since the xpak is around the corner now.

But it seems there's not agreement on whats the best build yet.

So I was wondering what was everyone's ideas for their builds so far.

I was thinking of maybe using this:

but i could use thoughts and suggestions of course.

Well, Blizzard's idea is mainly that a spec shouldn't be cookie cutter at all. As they claim that there is not much point in having a spec you just copy from someone else because it's "the best spec for ...." So what they did was create different talents who suit different people their playstyle so it wouldn't matter too much what you took performance wise but that you could basically just pick what you want.

So ye, just pick what suits your playstyle/you like/find interesting/whatever...

It's going to depend on what youre doing haha.

    What spec?

PvE? What boss? 5 mans? are there dots? no? Would SS be better than the healing from eternal flame?

PvP? What comp? have a stun? rep!

It's the same thing, though. Different encounters will have different mechanics, so you could very well have a different spec for each encounter (it may only vary by one talent, but it still counts).

Then that will come down to the fight / preference there really isn't a cookie cutter build anymore. If you're looking for a basis..

T1: If you need on demand speed, get the use sprint. If you need consistant speed, get PoJ.
T2 Doing 5 mans? get rep. Raid? probably stun, though most of the time they won't matter.
T3, Probably Selfless healer, or SS. Depends on the fight. You want to avoid useing eternal flame because you're useing holy power you could be DPSing with.
T4 Same thing, if there's a DoT mechanic, take the hand. Otherwise probably the talent that lets you use Sac/BoP/Freedom twice.
T5. Going to depend on the numbers i think as to which is the highest dps. I'll probably end up taking the new Zel, i like the on demand burst that lines up with wings.
T6: Depends on the fight/numbers. Most likely hammer or executioner. Holy pris seems to be having low numbers atm on beta.

Hope that is sorta what you were looking for again it's ALL down to personal preference though!

If you are looking to do max potential damage, you will be tailoring your spec for each fight and not any "cookie cutter" overall best.

If you aren't as interested in doing absolute best, just run with what you like. The spec choices are there for you to choose, and sometimes people looking for max damage are going to run with things that may not feel as fun or easy to use. As the choices are supposed to be about even though, if you choose what you like then you should be fine in most situations.

I see thanks for all the info. I didn't realize that blizz was going to change so much...then again I suppose after playing a Paladin for so long I should be used to it by now.
