    Grimoires output.

Probably already asked, but couldn't find it, so sorry if it's already answered and then close this thread

I'm not sure about damage output as I'm not using damage meters in Beta, but after doing some testing on my own and watching the numbers, I think that Grimoire of Service is behind the other two. A 20 sec Dps "boost" by summoning another demon that doesn't really deal much damage can't compete with a flat 20% damage increase on pets or a 60%->30% single target damage increase for 15min.

I wanted to use Service because I don't like much the Supremacy demons but the Fel Imp, but I do like to have my pet for damage and utility so I don't want to use Sacrifice, but now I'm kind of "forced" to use one of them.

So... Are the three grimoires (more or less) balanced between them damage wise? Or is there an obvious choice?

    Thanks

i don't think so, they seem very situational, i can see myself using all 3 for different fights in dragonsoul.

Oddly enough looking at simcraft it has demo using service which is obvious I suppose but destro and afflic using supremacy, with both specs using observer.
This seems perplexing with everyone talking about how good fel imp is.

As Zharradan says though I could see it being situational where fights like warmaster using sac.

I wonder if maybe supremacy became that much more powerful because the terrorguard wasn't nerfed only the doomguard.

wouldnt the terrorguard be nerfed aswell since it is a damage increase from the damage of the doomguard, and the doomguards damage was lowered making the terrorguard do lower damage as well

Both the Doomguard and the Terrorguard cast the same spell (Doom Bolt), which was what was nerfed. The Terrorguard just has a passive 20% buff to all damage.

I'll be rocking Supremacy comes 5.0. I like the passive always-on for pet damage, and the new models are pretty cool.

The question on the validity of Sacrifice is dependent on the percent damage done by your pets. If your pets are doing less than 15% of your damage it's a dps boost, if they are doing more than 15% of your damage it's a dps loss. It does have it's uses though. For example on the testing of the Sha of Fear if you were chosen to go to an outer platform then you lost your pet. I think it had to do with you moving out of range of it while you were getting moved. I'm assuming that you'll keep your pet come live but if it doesn't that much pet downtime would make sacrifice worth it.

Do you have any basis for Sacrifice being better for Demo?

Last time I checked simcraft, their Demo profile used sacrifice in a rather gimmicky way. He would sync up sacrificing the pet with Meta and then use Demonic Rebirth to resummon the pet right before the DR buff faded, removing the sacrifice buff. So essentially, Demo was playing with a normal pet for 105/120 seconds of the fight and with a double stacked sacrifice buff for 15/120 seconds of the fight. Not as annoying as the old pet twisting but still feels a little unintended. I did not bother to recheck it, my information is maybe 3 patches old...

    I'm not on beta.

As far as i'm concerned 10% more damage with one demon, permanently. Wouldn't outweight Double Damage from having 2 demons for 30 seconds, every two minutes.

They are all very appealing, and i believe Blizzard is going to make it so there wasn't an obvious choice.

In the end, they will prob have around the same amount of damage output. From what i'm guessing.

I believe Grimoire was changed to 20% damage, while Service was changed to a 20 second duration.

Gonna have to agree with Seezer if you play it right for demo you build up your fury then sac your demon and pop all cds and meta and do ridiculous damage for 15 seconds then right after the 2 stack of sacrifice falls off you can use the demo pet resummon ability to bring back the felguard just before it wears off and then build your fury again so in essence you got Pot+trinks+meta+demon soul+60% dmg to soulfire and demonic cleave which is insane, then at the end get to resummon your demon if you need it.
    Tier 6 gives you wings
