Steam Error

I've been attempting to install steam on my computer but have been having some major issues updating.

"Delete of steam.exe failed, Win32 Error 5 Access is denied (Steam Update stalls at 26 or 27%)"

I have attempted to follow valves support website suggestions from

I've attempted to create a new user w/ admin rights, made sure it wasn't read only, turned off my antivirus, allowed steam through windows firewall and even changed my applications services or w/e to automatic. I've attempted to update in safe mode w/ network and still nothing has been working. Hopefully someone else has come across this error and knows a fix.. I would greatly appreciate it!

what folder are you trying to install in? Windows 7 has issues with UAC if you install games in program files or program files (X86). try installing Steam on C:\Games\

I figured I would post my solution in hopes that it might help others,

Basic install steam until you get the error, unzip the above linked file and place it into your steam directory and restart the updater. problem solved.
