One i don't see mentioned yet that i'd rate my favorite is Planescape: Torment. It was built on the same engine as Baldur's Gate.

This together with Baldur's Gate and Might & Magic 6 : Mandate of Heaven are the most memorable

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

That game is what introduced me to the genre. Pokemon Red and Blue also were favorites though at the time I didn't consider them RPG games as much as adventure games with RPG elements.

Glad to see the Ultima series getting some love here. I poured hours upon hours into those games (almost as much as I've poured into WoW) growing up and have used the name I came up with back in Ultima IV on the good ol' Apple II in almost every RPG that allows for eight character names. We had even had a teacher at my elementary school that had a couple classroom copies of Ultima V and at least 20 kids in his class played.
