    2 times cardio every day?

    Hiho fitness gurus!

The long story: I got a "broken nerve", that's why i need to use crutches and take a pretty high dose of oxicodon (a pain killer somewhat stronger than morphine) for about 2 years now (it's a slowly intensing pain, the more I strain the leg, the worse it gets, the chrutches help me to be able to walk without the pain intensing too fast). The important part: There is no chance of something bad to happen, when i strain the leg, it's only pain for some hours/days (not like e.g. a broken leg or a ligament rupture, which may cure slower/not at all because of overexertion). Please do me a favor: Don't try to give me an advice like "If it's pain, your body is telling you not to do it" or "My aunt got the same problem, it's ...", i spent over 3 month in hospitals all over germany and several international reputated specialists were not able to help me or at least give it a name. Thanks so much :-)

My problem: I got the dimension of a door (heigth 6.8', shoulder length ~2', chest girth ~4.25') but over the last 2 years my weight grew from 263 lbs (which was pretty much my norm weight with a body fat of 15.5%) to 330 lbs, due to the illness totaly changing my life: Spent 14-16 h/day at my feet at work and got a pretty active free time, while i am happy now, when the pain doesn't keep me from falling asleep all night long after slowly walking with crutches for about an hour spread over the whole day. The physical suffering came along with a serious depression (had to change my whole live, including job, habitation and lifestyle because of the illness) - the combination of all thatmade it next to impossible for me to keep my weight.

Since my medics ask me to just eat less and move as few as possible (Only because of the pain!) I tryed several ways to start beeing more active, without theire help: Many gymnastic exercises need the legs as some kind of counter part which strains the "bad one" to much. The only exercise i got next to no problems with (and that really suprised myself) is a stationary bike, when i use it at a not to high "difficulty" (which is - for me - about 160 watt at 80 RPM).

My question: I use the stationery bike when waking up for about 30 min and again just before i go to bed for 30 min again, is that a "optimal" solution under the given circumstances? Or would it be more beneficial to eg use the bike only every 2nd day, I remember that from my long gone time at the gym, where they told me "only train every 2nd day so the muscles may use the "spare time" to grow, so it may be something like "Only use it every 2nd time for 3-4 weeks so the muscles = energy users = kcal burner may grow, then use it daily".

Many, many thanks in advance and sorry for the - for sure - very hard-to-understand-english but it has been a long time since i used english for more than some small talk. :-/

Aslong as you get the calories you need and the nutrition you need, its fine.
But you will platue out eventually so youll have to switch it up.

Not sure if i understand correctly but, are you asking that its okay to exercise on a stationary bike twice a day? If so the simple answer is, yes.

Dependent on what speed you go, yes. Say you ride the stationary bike at circa 14 mph which is the moderate speed then by all means if you have to energy and time do so. But if you plan on gaining muscle and go at 20 mph or more and tire out quickly then no every day or 2nd day would be fine.

Nothing wrong with doing cardio twice per day, though I probably wouldn't suggest putting one session right before bedtime. Perhaps 30 min before breakfast and 30 min before dinner.

If you're planing on simply losing some weight, a decent diet will do you more than that hour on the stationary bike every day.
