Love the Amber Shaper fight. Can't wait to see some of the different ways that he might be killed off on heroic. Really going to be a boss that you should keep your eye out for.

This whole journey crap needs to stop.

If you carry on playing the game, clearing each tier comes out, guess what, you are doing the exact same journey as TBC. So what if other players can skip tiers, it's what you do that matters.

Anyway, what I find with raiding is, it's boring to watch on video, it's completely different doing it yourself.

Are you honestly saying Christmas was 3 months ago? By my count, it's more like 7 months for him to get bauss gear. Also badge/crafted/BoE gear existed during Sunwell, so your point is kind of moot.

Don't get me wrong, TBC was my favourite WoW period, but the game has evolved dramatically for the better and your analogy is terrible.

I think most posters here misunderstood what he said. Imo he means after being burnt out of raiding, why bother with since its exactly the same as 5 years ago.

The problem with diablo 3 is that the game is so friggin unrewarding, I honestly love its gameplay but the loot man, is fucked up.

There was great raiding in WOTLK and Cata, just it was few and far between. The biggest problem was that nearly every raid in BC was fun as hell and challenging(pre nerfs) while only some of the raids in WOTLK and Cata were fun and challenging. Cata in particularly sufferred from not enough content. Wotlk's initial tier of content was designed to be easy and bring in more people to raiding. They followed it up with Ulduar, which was one of the best raids ever on many fronts. The initial tier in Cata was pretty good, though some of the content was pretty lame(ToFW, parts of BWD).

The real test for MOP will be the subsequent patches of content after the first raid tier. Keep up the strong raids and dungeons!

I don't really see what you expect to be different? Raiding is about a group (preferably large group) of people coming together to down a big bad. Personally I find the gear grind/treadmill fun and will so for a while. There's nothing wrong with LFG and LFR. I enjoy doing them on my alts to mess around.

It may look, but I wish it was...
In BC, old tiers did not became deprecated the minute a new tier was released.
In BC, raiding was not about dexterity, more about throughput.

So end of the day....people are still missing out.

As a casual player, really...be my guest and go try to find anyone actually willing to go do T11/T12 content...that isn't a group selling mounts/titles...it's impossible...you just wont...so thats the casual base missing out on content yet again.

The only difference now is that the casual base can get into CURRENT content....they're still locked away from ever seeing anything else because there isn't people willing to go do it when they can just do an easier/newer content for better gear....
With Openraid.us/Openraid.eu the amount of people doing older/non-current content has exploded. All of these old raids with achievs are getting lots of face time with players now due to Blizz letting you do cross realm raids through RealID on legacy content in 4.3. Another great thing from 4.3 was transmog. Another great incentive that brings lots of players back to old raids.

I hate to be "that guy" but I've played since Vanilla and I think the current game is the best it's ever been. Sure Dragon Soul has gotten a bit stale for me but there's so many other things to do than just farm the latest content before MoP. I like where WoW is going AND I like raiding at a "hardcore" level. Crazy right?

I was a 100% raid attendance nerd from Karazhan all the way to Sunwell a few months before 3.0. I got into raiding because it was the way to fully experience the game. I really enjoyed the journey from Karazhan to Black Temple (I admit I started to get bored half way through Sunwell, mainly because Blizzard made Illidan out to be the final boss for so long)

I really enjoyed going from t4/t5/t6 and it was seem-less experience where we transition from tier to tier wasn't instantaneous, but it was slowly overtime. We went back many times to attune people and gear new people to be able to come to BT/Hyjal and then eventually Sunwell. Unlike today where I see people go from T12, to T13 almost what it seem is overnight and the previous tier is completely forgotten about.... over night.

But thats besides the point. From those attempts they're doing it SERIOUSLY reminds me of my days of raiding in TBC on progression nights, even the ventrilo in the background sounds fucking identical, same reactions, same comments, same type of "feeling".

So raiding is exactly the same, (boring thing you end up doing for a long time out of pure habit) and gameplay still is the same....but there is no actual journey from tier to tier anymore. I got my friend into WoW last Christmas holidays and he is already in full heroic DS gear (granted he plays a tank, and probably got fed gear), and he never even did any previous content in WoW.

well you have to be fair.. World of Warcraft is an ancient game.. how many years has it been out?

IT IS THE SAME GAME MAN! You kinda.. have a twisted perspective

what did you expect? to come and see a different game?! IT'S THE SAME GAME.. what you are witnessing is called "Stat Creep".. nothing changes except the +10 str becomes +100 str is now +1000 str...

fundamentally, what were you really expecting here? the game to change? IT CANNOT BE DONE. THE GAME IS THE SAME.. I honestly do not even know what you expected here

to see what? a different game? it makes no sense whatsoever.. this is an ancient mmo.. it's not a new game

EXPANSIONS ARE NOT A NEW GAME FFS.. what were you expecting??? *facepalm*
