Just use a pen drive,Just make sure you get a 32 gig one.....i have done this w/o any prob
wow is stand alone, there are no registry issues if you want a desktop icon just open the folder and send the .exe file to your desktop as a shortcut
You can also use this method to back up your WTF and addons folder icase you you loose all your data from a hard drive crash, then just replace those folders after a fresh install
and poof your UI and everything is back to normal........for those who use a complicated UI this is a lifesaver

Why torrent? Blizzard downloader does it just fine. Go to your account & select "download game client". Dont bother downloading TBC/Wrath, just get vanilla one & cataclysm.
You dont even need to dl Vanilla, just go with Cataclysm.

Yes, you can simply copy it over. Wow will take care for it's registry records by itself (even though there aren't many, because most settings are saved inside the wow folder).
But if you copy it directly to CD/DVDs, be sure to remove the write protection after you have restored the files from the folder and all its files. Or use a compression program that supports splitting into several volumes, and restore the files out of that compressed container.

Simple solution - use 7Zip (http://www.7-zip.org). Zip up your wow folder and pick the option to split the archive into CD-sized chunks. Burn each one to CD, copy to the other computer and extract.

Better options - copy to 32GB memory stick, or connect computers up to a LAN and just copy over the whole folder.
