    Graphics Card Upgrade

Hey guys, I need a little help from ya.

I currently have a EVGA Nvidia 550 Ti 1GB that I am going to be giving to my wife for her build, so I am looking for something to replace that in my machine.

I have around $200 USD to spend on it and want to stay with Nvidia (personal preference, I just like the look and feel of the cards).

I have looked at the GTX 560 MSI Twin Frozr and it seems to be pretty good but I want to get some more opinions on it since I bought the 550 Ti without really doing my research

I don't want to start and Nvidia vs AMD fight or anything and its a simple question, would you recommend this card or something else?

    Thanks!

That card is a solid choice, yes. If you can squeeze few more bucks in your budget, you could also get a GTX 560 Ti which is a bit better card.

I have the 560 Ti and I love it, and it is just a bit better than the regular 560. It can get a bit noisy if you don't clean it often enough, the TwinFrozr that is, (which I to my damnation do not) but it is a solid card that performs very well in my experience, have had no problems with any releases in the past year and a half and I don't think the 560 would either.

I don't know enough about the 550 to say whether the 560 or 560 Ti would be a good enough upgrade to be worth it or not, but with your budget I'd save up a bit longer and go for a 660 or 670 when they come out if at all possible. In hindsight that is what I should have done rather than upgrade from my 460, even if I'm content with my 560 Ti.

Thanks man, I'll see what I can work up lol. I just needed some more opinions on it.

I don't see Nvidia as viable at all in the lower price range at this moment, either wait for the new cards to be released (sept/okt) or go with AMD.

The 550 Ti is pretty bad..I really didn't read up on it before I bought it. But luckily it suits my wife's needs perfectly and as for the 1GB vs 2GB I don't run any huge screens (1 1920x1080 and 1 1400x900) and I couldn't find the MSI Twin Frozr 2GB model so I think the 1GB will do me.

Hey dont go for 560 ti anymore man! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150617 Give it a 29 dollars more and that will KO 560 ti! It also consumes less power and runs cooler!

Thanks mate but I already ordered my GTX 560 non Ti. It suited my needs and fit my tight budget (we're moving lol).

Thanks again for the help everyone issues resolved!

Sadly you could've gone with a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150561 instead which is on par or better performing and less money.
