    I am not sure if the people fearing for pvp servers actually read the entire thing. It says that, basically, this won't be functional on pvp servers; as when you are flagged for pvp, you will have no ability to group with the opposite faction, unless you go into a random dungeon group.

    So my understanding is that pvp servers will basically function as they do now. The non-pvp servers will change, except for Sanctum and Meridian will still function like they do now.

    I bet this game will have a dance studio and housing much closer than some others aswell :P

    The problem isn't the changes done to the pvp servers, I think people are more afraid that their pvp servers will be bleeding players over to the pve servers. I can say for myself that the only reason I play on a pvp server is because it's kinda cool to see enemies out in the open, make a decision if you should jump them or continue in peace, will the enemy suddenly attack you etc.

    But when there is so many bonuses for playing on a pve server (easier to find guild that suits you, easier to find groups etc) I think a lot of us will consider a server change.

    Housing comes this fall with Storm Legion. Not heard anything about dance studio, tbh never heard anyone request them either :P

    I guess peope dance less when they spend more time out in the gameworld and not in the major cities.

    Yeah. PvP rifts are pretty cool and they were a great addition to try and promote more world PvP, but realistically there aren't really many draws for "epic open world PvP", especially now that you have something like conquest around. I know I transferred to a PvE server because I was annoyed with the world PvP far more often than I found it fun : /

    Not true, because PVP is a lot more than gankfests at zone invasions. With warfronts and conquest there is little reason for a dedicated pvper to choose a pvp server. As I said, the only benefit is if you like to feel the tension rise when you bump into players from the opposing faction.

    It's not about the fun of pvp, it's about the benefits from playing on a pve server. There is just a minor loss of excitement out in the zones, and you could still see people run around flagged for pvp.

    If/when Trion considers pvp to be in a good spot with big enough interest from the players, I think they will need to have a look at what a pvp server is supposed to be. Because I fear for my beloved server Bloodiron when these changes take effect. And as I said, it has nothing to do with pvp being boring (not saying it doesn't need work tho)

    I think along similar lines.
    Trying to farm several thousand ISS and Fire+Earth Cores was a pain in the arse on Seastone when my old guild was there. Only some of us PvPed and there were several Guardian guilds of full R40s who used to make life hell.

    PvP rifts hardly promote PvP anymore I rarely see them on my shard.

    Imo should be removed and promote more conquest!

    As other said, I am more worried about people leaving the PvP servers for easier access to the new content. It may mean less World PvP because of that.

    this can lead to either 3 things....

    1st)1 mega faction and people only do PVP in warzones or the 3 faction place
    2nd)the 3 faction system where a player actually choses which way he will go and this will continue on the open world
    OR final but not least
    3rd)an open PVP system like in AGE OF CONAN where everyone are fair game :P

    Either way this is the best thing to happen in RIFT,factions are stupid when you impose them to players.Let the players choose where their pride stands.

    nope,when i first started RIFT(dont play anymore)made a DEFIANCE not because i choose them but because i liked the model.Having every person of a race being in a single faction is stupid.What if the player wants to be a dwarf that doenst believe in gods?or a "big grey dudes :P "that believe in gods?
    For me the idea that your race locks you in pre-determed beliefs and ideas is stupid.Also the idea that i cant freaking kill that a$$hole that stole my kill or my node or because he is just a jackass in the chat due to him being the same faction than me is even worse.

    The defiance recognize the gods, the gods however do not help them.

    not even going to the lore part...lore wise is where the 2 faction system is always wrong in every game...unless is a demons vs angels thing where your side is the polar oposite of the other and you cant be together because you are made to be enemies.
    in which case defiants and guardians are not polar opposite enough.

    in a way that lets say americans are the polar oposite of europeans.they are not made to hate each other,the reason they do war is religion or/and political in the mid of an attack of a more powerfull enemy.

    Also i know they do aknoledge gods BUT all of the defiance think they have abandoned them,we are talking about releigion here and sundently 4 entire races stoped worshiping the gods?Thats just unrealistic at all,i understand that when RIFT come out and WoW was the normal thing to go with,they had to implement it in a way,i just find it wrong

    As a person who hate factions in games since it limits the community and cuts the population you can play with in half on a server I strongly approve of this. PvP should be done in BGs on even ground (which Trion is doing aswell!).

    now if only I could kill my own faction in open world pvp id have no complaints with rift
