    Oh boy oh boy

So I finally got a new computer, and after playing BF3 and blowing my heart out on SC2 for the past couple days. And NOT EVER installing wowzers again

I do need to find something to play, I like RPG's and what not, I play D3 pretty avidly when im not doing ladders on SC2 or blowing shit up in a tank on Bf3, And all my friends play one game.

    Skyrim.

I personally have never played the game before, nor ever even watched it (please dont hate me for that, Never had the computer power for it(new specs below))

They, Ironically, are out camping this weekend, I, being the smarter one, decided to stay home in my cozyness.

And so skyrim jumped into my mind.

    I have a couple questions

    1) is it repetative?

2)combat? is it just slow and drawn out?

    3)story good to follow?

    4) Any tips on how to "play" the game?

    5) Ill more then likely be playing a Warrior'esk class, but When i played Wowzers or D3 i always played the range class (DH and hunter) Is there such a class?

Thanks guys, Always helping me out!

1: Only a little repetitive, not like wow or anything.
2: Combat is pretty fast, unless the difficulty is up then the bad guys take a bit more of a killing.
3: Story is good yes, the real game is in the side quests as opposed to the main story.
4: Nah it's easy to play, you'll learn fast.
5: You don't pick a class, the more you use a sword for example, the higher the skill you'll get in it. So if you do magic loads, you'll be more powerful at it. You can also use a bow, and sneak etc. Quite a few options.

It's a good game, and deserves to be played.
If you had the chance tae change yer fate... would yae?

From what I heard about Skyrim, it's all about what YOU do with it... welcome to most free world games. You can finish it pretty fast but if you decide to do all the little extras it will take some time. Personally I didn't like it that much, but that's my opinion. Your comment suggests you don't like something about WoW (which really wasn't needed as it is just flame-bait), but I'll ask anyway - why not try that?

    Assuming "Wowzers" is just WoW.

    1. It gets repetitive . . . but only after about 100 hours in lol.
    2. Combat is fast paced, normally. Dragon Priests and Dragons might take a while, but the pace is still fast.
    3. The main story is meh, the side stories are better (Thieves guild questline was the best in the game.
    4. Tips? Its an elder scrolls game! Play the way you enjoy it!
    5. Classes? Have you ever played an elder scrolls game? Well, you could put your perks into archery and stealth and light armor but still, you more or less make your own class. There really aren't any "classes." I suppose you could say the game has mage, warrior, thief, but you can spend your perks whereever you feel is the best to spend them and not worry about being locked in a specific class. My first character was a thief who used magic so there's really no limit on how you want to play your toon.

Basically just grew outta the game. Havnt found WoW fun at all for about...2-3 years. I dont flame about it or get upset, Its not the game changing its my personality and wants in a game. But MoP in my mind just said its time to hang up the towel and wait for "Titan"

Skyrim... where to start. Im on my third playthrough. have clocked almost 200 hours ingame. and im STILL finding new stuff i missed before. You can be what you wanna be and do the game in any order ye like. Dont feel like continueing the main story quests (of which there are several) wander off in any random direction till you stumble over something else to do/kill.

    1. Repetetive is a state of mind. some of the dungeons start to look similar but there is so much to see!

    2. Combat is up to you. snipe yer enemies from a distance with a bow/xbow, burn them with magic or go toe to toe with melee weaps (i like archery!)

    3. Story as i said is epic. So much to do and so many ways you can do them.

    4. Log in. Create yer toon. Start playing. Can do what you want in almost any way ye want. I cant oversell archery though especially when you get xbows from the expansion pack. being able to oneshot mobs from across the room (sneak attack and damage bonus talents) is win

    5. No such thing as 'class' you level by doing stuff ingame (from killing mobs to crafting armor) and earn skill points you can spend in various talent trees to improve different aspects of your toon. You can put your points anywhere for example my theif has archery, stealth, magic, lockpicking, pickpocketing as his main trees. THe more points in a tree the cooler stuff you unlock (like being able to steal the cloths off the npc's back)
Have you ever stepped on a lego piece while barefoot?

Can you recall that exquisitely piercing and utterly unforgettable pedal agony? Now imagine what would happen if you were to step on between 10 and 25 angry, well armed lego pieces which are all acting in brutal concert, and tell me how that would go for you.

Plus they have magic and sharp objects.

Fair enough, everyone has their own opinions and prefers certain games to others. As I said, I just read it as a flame-bait, no worries.

A lot of people say first person is the best way to play but I much prefer third person when I'm doing melee and first person when I'm casting/using a bow.

    So you can do both.

Armor and weapons drop off mobs. And its whatever the mob happens to be carrying and using, though they often have extra in their inventory.

Armor can also be crafted through blacksmithing (and other professions modded into the game) As you level up, mobs also level up and they wear better gear, meaning you get better gear when you kill them.

And you can get gear from chests and around the environment too. Sometimes you'll get some as a quest reward, but usually that's just gold.
