A Clockwork Orange.
Not only is it just a brilliant movie, but the message when it was made 41 years ago still stands 100% true today, showing how far we HAVEN'T come as a society.

Apply blizzards model to any other subscription service, you'd be outraged:
Netflix adds no new movies for a year, you click a new movie, there's a $5 fee.
You're in an accident, click your onstar button, but there's an addition $20 fee for them to help.
You turn on your tv only to find all you get are the infomercial channels. Every other show is pay per view.
See how dumb that model is?
Lord of the rings or shawshank redemption >.< DAMN
Glen or Glenda

Has to be lord of the rings! If I had to pick one, it would be the third
I think I would go with the first Trilogy of Star Wars (6, 7 and 8 episodes). I feel like they are really good, great story, lightsaber fights good as always for that time, visual effects, everything. I think it's the best for me. Also Princesses Mononoke and Spirited Away are pretty good movies too, I just love them.
Even though The Avengers may not be, imo, the greatest movie, claiming that a movie needs to receive a "Palme d'Or" or an Oscar to be good, or that every movie that has gotten one of those awards is "good", is pathethic. Just as pathethic as reading a review for a game/movie and basing your opinion on the game/movie from that review, often without even watching it yourself.
Those "awards" people are the same people depicted in South Park that try to make sense out of "the tale of scrotie mcboogerballs", a book just containing disgusting language. All these best movies/games threads are 100% subjective opinions so don't tell people that they're wrong when they say "X is my favourite movie", it's just sad.
Return of the Jedi. The original series was a masterpiece. The Avengers is an excellent movie, no doubts about that, but I wouldn't call it the best movie ever made. It's up there, though.
Yeah I have too many to chose so I'll do it by genre
Children's - Goonies
Fantasy - LOTR
Drama / Suspense - The Fugitive
Action - Heat
Sci-Fi Action - Independence Day
Comedy - Dumb and Dumber
Misfit Ensemble - Ocean's Eleven (clooney version)
Drama / Romantic - Titanic
Horror - Final Destination (before they made 2/3/4/etc trash)
Sports - Rookie of the Year
Godfather 1 and 2 (the third was well... bad) or Goodfellas.
Best movie: Maverick
Best Trilogy Movie: LOTR
Your words are like your intestine, stinky and loaded with danger.
The Shawshank Redemption
Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'
The Hunt for Red October comes in a close 2nd

Clockwork Orange? Really? That piece of garbage is on my list of the ten worst ever made. Dr. Strangelove is a good choice though.
It's all subjective though. I used to watch Siskel and Ebert just to see what Ebert's opinion was on a movie I was thinking of seeing. Every time, without fail, if he gave it a thumbs down, I knew I would like it. Conversely, almost every time he said something was good , I knew it would be boring and terrible.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.. If you pointed a gun at me and said: 'Tell me your favourite movie(movieseries) of all time right now or I'll shoot you'. I'd have said the Lord of the Rings. It's just my favourite. It's also the most immersive film series I've ever seen. ( In my personal opinion of course ) It's such a long and great journey ; )
One? A quick thought would lead me to Blade Runner which had the most excellent monologue I've yet to see!
However, if I were to sit down and think about it for a day or two, I would probably find something else...and then think of something else...and so on...
A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon.
cant have best movie of all time in all categories, there is a top5 movies for each genre, but that's about it
