GW1 spirits are in GW2. Nearly identical in function and design (nearly), but... they're turrets. On an Engineer.

I didn't play an engineer much.
That makes me sad really......spirits - turrets. Changes the entire focus.
Plus, what with mesmer clones I also don't think they'll introduce Rits now. Too many profs with supports units.

    Ritualist - Spiritist

Would love to see them back for Cantha expansion.

    Chronomancer sounds nice too.

Battlemage, that can wield mainhand swords, axes, scepters and pistols; and offhand swords, axes, scepters and focii.

    Pirate! Yarrr!

Pistols, Rifle, Swords, Axe and Mace. With Elites like "Shivering timbers" and "Ye be walkin the plank", and ofcourse a daring escape ability called "you'll always remember this day...". Healing himself by drinking Rum, which also gives him frenzy (drunken rage and all)

Tactics had dragoons. At least Tactics advanced did.

I would love some sort of Monk class. Also a shapeshifter would be cool if done right, but technically Norn's already have those abilities as racials. I don't imagine Anet making a class out of that only, but you never know.

I would love some kind of dragoon class, but not sure what they would have that is different than a warrior besides using lances. However, a chronomancer would be unique in the game and very, very, cool.

    One last phone-post from bed.

Final Fantasy IV. Kain was most definitely a Dragoon.

Oh yes. This. Or a Spellsword from Elder Scrolls series. Basically someone who uses light armor, magic and weapons.

    Commando.

    Someone had to say it.

How about a race-specific class? Humans could get dervish, norn could get a shapeshifter, asura could get golemancer, and I'm sure that someone could think up something great for charr and sylvari too. It's more work, but it would be really neat.

For Scholars I'd definitely want to see the Ritualist again. With the changes made to other existing classes, one could readily find an alternative to turret spirits given Ritualists did have more going for them than that. I'd like to see a Flexible weapon type (whips/chain weapons) for classes like Necromancer, Mesmer, Ranger and whatever else makes sense.

I'd like to see a Polearm weapon type added and a new Heavy Armor class concentrated on two handed weapons in general.

I'd definitely want to see a Dervish inspired class, even if not the Dervish.

I want to play a Dervish from the original Guild Wars. It's kinda like a death knight, but in light armor, wearing a scythe instead. It reminded me of the grim reaper, which i thought was cool

I want to see a real berserker kind of warrior, medium/light armor, only 2handed weapons, heavy damage and low defenses. But since we can already spec warrior into a glass cannon, I don't think this is happening.
