I'm actually very curious about this since there seems to be a disconnect between the people I've talked to about it.
I will personally say both.

Big humans.
When you see someone in a thread making the same canned responses over and over, click their name, click view forum posts, and see if they are a troll. Then don't feed them."Gamer" is not a bad word. I identify as a gamer. When calling out those who persecute and harass, the word you're looking for is "asshole." @_DonAdams
I see norn as norn, i am not a racist.
I see them as... really big dwarves.
They're loud, they're drunk, they're based off of norse mythology, which if current tropes hadn't forced Dwarves down my throat for that would be fine.
I dunno, truthfully, I see them as "not interesting enough" and they won't be filling up one of my character slots come launch.

Uh. Neither one.... I see them as Norn.
I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.
If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.
I see them as johnny bravo now
Aye...they're norn. A hardy race with a strong spiritual bond to nature.
As Kel said they're more similar to norse/dwarves than anything.
I disliked what happened to the Dwarves in the first guild wars.
But I guess there's a remote chance you'll run into some if you explore the depths of Tyria's underground caverns.
*To clarify, this was directed at posts regarding Norns being like dwarves to people.

To deny something outright is to show a lack of imagination. Everything can be successful. Adaptation and innovation.
To say "nobody wants this" is to show how closed minded one can truly be. Think outside the box and reveal an intelligent person.
for me Norns are like:
(dont understand a worth but looks like i would have a lot fun with them - btw im german^^)
or better^^
Bigger humans. Shapeshifting isnt perma or/and doesnt stay for long.
Theyre typical viking style in my eyes.
Giants, and that's the reason I'm making one, So i can tower over you all! muwhaha :>
Just bigger humans, if you had no knowledge of GW2 and someone showed you a picture of a Norn you'd assume its just a human.
Catch me if you can! http://en.gw2codex.com/build/5726
Big deformed humans. There really isn't much shapeshifting going on.
Taller, more attractive, better build (unlike human toothpicks) more badass human.
