So I get to get a new computer soon and was wondering what Laptops people are suggesting for gaming at around the thousand dollar mark.

None, if you can avoid it.
Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.

Theres also MSI laptops and the Asus Gseries which range in price.
You can find stuff fairly close to the 1000 mark at those sites. I would try to get something at or better than an i5 3210m, a 650m video card, and try to upgrade to at least 8Gb of DDR3 1600Mhz if not it wont be horrible bute definately the cpu and video card should be at the minimum listed above. You will not be playing games at max settings but you should be able to play at a fairly decent setting. Heres some reviews/bench of the 650m.
