hmm, my brother's workstation: 2x 590s = 900watts alone, now add in a firepro, 990x@4.5, and 5 hard drives, there are still plenty of uses for a 1500w PSU, just because your computer isn't using that much, that doesn't mean others don't need the power

Efficiency goes into the toilet when there is a big discrepency between the power supply size and what your computer uses. It's nice to have extra, but you want to scale your powersupply to approximate what you are using.
