2500k and the 2700k are pretty close and won't make too much of a difference. If possible, I would go with one of the Ivy bridge processors though. I have 560 ti with the 2500k and the only game I haven't been able to play on ultra thus far is BF3, but I'm playing that at a mixture of Ultra and High settings. All games played at 1920-1080 res.

CPU: get the i5-3570k. Better than both the 2500k and 2700k for gaming.
Mainboard: get the Asrock Z77 Extreme4 instead
Why do something simple, when there is a complicated way?

OK guys I updated my initial post in this thread Does that look about right?

I'm goal is to run most games at ultra and get the highest FPS.

Hopefully these three parts, and when I upgrade to the GTX 680 will do just that and perhaps more!

With those components, you should be set. Any specific games you want this performance on or you just want a generic gaming "beast"?

There will always be those games you won't be able to max, but usually a few small tweeks to shadows or maybe AA lowered will be all that's needed.

    Upgraded initial post.

Going to overclock to 4.5 GHz.

Added a much much better power supply and a Liquid cooling system so i have no issues with power faultage.

    Thoughts?

    Get a 650W PSU.
Don't go for the GTX680 (as of now, the cost is simply too high compared to its performance), rather go for the GTX670 or even better the HD7970.
Also I would go for either a H80 (or better) watercooling solution, or simply go air cooling.

    Ok heres what I have.

    Kingston 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor (Overclocking to 4.5) GHz

PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 600W Modular 80PLUS Bronze Power Supply

CORSAIR H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Went with a different Power supply should be okay i think?

I know it's ovekill but this is the GPU I am going to go with. Shouldn't have to change it for a while with me playing on 1920-1080 on a single monitor.

What you think? ok with the power supply?

What case do you have? You have to make sure the H100 can fit.
I have no knowledge of that PSU brand, go for brands like Corsair, SeaSonic, Antec, XFX, etc.
    Why do you want a GTX680 over a HD7970?

Ok in the end this is the final set up i am going with.

A little over kill with the memory and GPU but will be much worth it IMO.
