Raid lockout question

Hello. Since a couple of people in my guild are still looking to get the Ragnaros Heroic mount, I was wondering if it would be possible for me to join someone else his group to clear 6/7 heroic, leave and then use their lockout to get the players in my guild the mount (bearing in mind that the group from earlier might kill Ragnaros on heroic or normal after I left)?
What if I extend the lockout?

If they kill rag on heroic you can't use it for your intended purposes.
If they kill rag on normal you can use it for your intended purposes.

Extending lockout has no effect.
