Red face Need advice on graphic's card upgrade

    Hello all,

    I'm looking to upgrade my graphic's card but need some advice as to which one would be best to invest in my current specs are;

    Mobo: MSI 880GM-E41
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 (3.0 GHZ)
    RAM : 8GB DDR3
    PSU: 650W
    Running Windows 7 Professional
and my current graphics card is a sad little ATI Radeon 4850 with 1GB of RAM

While not the worst (it still plays decently) I'd very much like to upgrade it to a better version. My current budget it around 100€ - 200€
I tried figuring it out myself but then I got exceptionally confused by the 2.0 PCI-E and 2.x 3.x so on, so forth. @_@

    Thank you in advance!

You dont have to worry about pcie 2.0/3.0 and stuff like that, for that budget I'd recommend a 7850 or a 660ti, they're both similar in performance and right in your budget.

as the above guy said, for about 175€, 560ti, for 200€, 7850.

What games do you play, and do you want them maxed?

Best one for that price is an HD7850/70 or a GTX560Ti, the latter being worse in benchmarks.

I'd suggest to get MSI gtx 660 ti overclocked gpu, if u can strech the budget into 310$ (around 250€). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127696

Within your budget go for this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130685 (GTX 560 ti).

No point in going for outdated hardware, the 7850 would be a better choice.

I mainly play WoW, Skyrim and GW2 right now. And yes, I'd like them to be maxed though wouldn't mind to jumble settings around a bit (like playing on med-high) if that's the only reasonable option. I get a very stable 38-40 fps with Skyrim on high using custom shaders and addons and that doesn't bother me at all.

As long as it doesn't start looking like Tetris

I built my new computer last week and went with a HD 7850 from Gigabyte - it is a stock OC with what I believe to be an awesome cooling system. I have not OC it any further but with extended play in WOW the fans are always silent at around 50% via its auto control and I have not seen temps above 43 Celicus.

    I am happy.

Here's a HD 7850 that should fall within your budget: http://www.alternate.nl/html/product.../?event=search

It's going to be a substantial upgrade as you'd expect, so you're definitely looking at the right kind of card (the 4850 isn't listed on the comparison here, so this is just go give you an idea of the huge performance difference):
