Pie or Cake?

I should probably say that I am for Pie. Dirty cakes eaters are a blight on the world.

Pie. Rhubarb Strawberry pie is beyond comparison for cakes. Cakes are all essentially the same. Pies come in just a beyond ridiculous variety. Fruits, pudding, cream, whatever the hell pumpkin's texture is, and on and on. Cake is basically all the same thing with different flavorings.

I can't think of any pie that tastes better then a great carrot cake, or princess cake, kladdkaka(messy cake, gotta love the name) or my personal favorite Rörträsktårta(the name makes no sense in english).
They might not look like much to the world but once you get any of these into your gob you can't get enough of it.

You Americans have a weird idea of what constitutes "pie".

But if you're talking about dessert pies (apple, rhubard etc) versus cakes... well it depends, eg your average sponge cake is pretty crappy and I'd much rather have a delicious custard pie, but on the other hand there are awesome cakes that beat the hell out of pies. Also depends on temperature, if it's cold out you'd rather have a nice hot pie than a cake.

In general I think I'd vote cake though.

cake, because pies are mostly made of fruit and i hate fruit. there are some pies made of pudding that aren't too bad though.

Yeah, this is where I come down as well. Although I think of cheesecake as pie, and thus I say pie.

Yeah, this is where I come down as well. Although I think of cheesecake as pie, and thus I say pie.

my favorite in the world is my mom's chocolate cheesecake. she makes it with the 72% or higher cacao dark chocolate. it is soooo rich

OMG this thread is making me hungry. Definitely pie, they haven't made a pie yet I don't like, yes even the dinner pies (shepherds pie, tortier pie, etc.).

My favourite would probably be blueberry. Or strawberry-rhubarb. Or peach. Or cherry. Damn, I just can't decide.
